Re: Let's see your Maintenance Records

I have no records because I do it all myself (since I brought the car home with 7 miles on the odometer Feb. 28th, 2004), but everything is kept as a word document on my laptop in the same folder as my VAG COM data logs.
I even declined the free oil changes and everything under the "free maintanance" gig that Audi offered when the car was new. I actually never used any of them because I trust no one but myself.

Re: Let's see your Maintenance Records

I have the maintainence records from the previous owners through 65k and everything has been done on time and correctly.(exept they changed the oil every 8-10k) Other than that my records look like the 0P's.

I am as fussy with detailed maintainence as you are or more so, but I don't have a comprehensive maintainence log file. That would be too much like real work.

Re: Let's see your Maintenance Records

I have a notebook in my glove box of every single thing I've done to my car. The date and mileage. It'll take me forever to scan it in and/or write it down here. Too much to list and I'd make the list way to detailed for the masses.

I also have the Audi maintenance history from before I bought the car and through 50,000 since they were taking care of warranty work.

When I sold my 1993 Jeep YJ I had receipts and a notebook documenting everything that was done in the 150,000miles of that vehicle. It was a very thick book. The buyer (an auto mechanic) was ecstatic. I can say it was a selling point for him since he was as detailed as I am.

I'm the same way. I know what needs to be done and when, but I don't really keep records of when I do it.

Well, I do save the receipts for everything and write the mileage on them, so I guess that kinda counts.

My service book is full of stamps! I keep all the bills though. I do some oil changes myself. But I like my local Audi dealer and they do a good job so I take it to them for all the scheduled services. I also like to keep my service book looking uniform hahaha

How do you do an alignment without the machine? Or do you own one of those!

The turbo needed to be rebuilt because it was leaking into the intake piping and it cost $110 shipped for the rebuild kit plus bay time and random other parts. The valve gasket job was done because I had blow by onto my plugs. All the fluids were done for piece of mind cause the guy who owned it before me had no record of maintenance. The plastic rings at the top of the dipstick were breaking off everytime I took it out of the tube. Plus I love working on my car(not so much spending the money on parts though) Hopefully everything I need to do is done now and I can start buying upgrade parts.
