Time to fix my transmission clunk...

I posted a thread a while ago about the "clunk" when i shift from 1st to 2nd quickly. I've tried 3 different types of fluid and the clunk never goes away.( It does get a bit better when the car is warmed up..) Most people agree that it's the slop in the trans that causes this...So i'm ordering the Stern Power Ring at the suggestion of another 'ziner.

Anything else I should get? Would new motor mounts make a big difference?
I do already have an APR snub mount.

What about other transmission mounts? ECS has these, do you guys think these would help?

    thanks!

Yea, these 034 mounts do look nice. Do they make the drivetrain really stiff?

Are you sure the clunk isn't just incorrect technique when shifting?

Re: Time to fix my transmission clunk...

i have the 034 track density motor mounts and drivers side track density mount and things feel MUCH better.. Next up will be the Apikol rear dif mount, drivers side 034 track density and 034 snub mount.

Is your clunk audible from the front or back?

Re: Time to fix my transmission clunk...

umm.. hard to tell where its coming from, it happens when shifting form 1-2
I've heard a lot of other audiziner's have reported similar problems once their trannys got a little up there in age. otherwise it shifts pretty smoothly.
