    difference in podi.ca gauges

I'm new to the audi and turbo world and i'm picking my A4 up on wednesday so i'll be sure and post up some pics whenever i get her! MY question is what is the difference in the Electronic Stepper Motor gauge package and the Stewart Warner package? I mean i read all that stuff but i'm not really sure what it means. I like the Stewart Warner pkg becasue i have the silver rings in my car so it looks more OEM but if the Electronic stepper motor pkg is better than i'd get that one. I guess i just need to know what that of things means to me

    Podi steering column gauge pod
100% electronic stepper motor based boost gauge (-30mmHg/30psi)
Multiple LED backligting (8 for dial, 1 for needle)
Infrared remote control what do i need a remote for?
    Peak boost value recall
    User programmable overboost warning alarm

User adjustable brightness and dial/needle color combinations

    as apposed to just

    Podi steering column gauge pod
Custom Stewart Warner gauge w/ custom dial and needle (-30mmHg/25psi)
Podi Anti-Buzz Boost Guage Tubing Kit
Wiring harness, white and red LEDs

    thanks

The stepper motor package is a better gauge, with multiple functions (hence the remote), illuminated neddle, no anti-buzz fitting required since it is electric, it is the newest product by Podi..if you like the silver bezel there is also the VEI gauge package that looks very nice and is what I went with..

Stewart Warner is a mechanical gauge.

The new stepper motor unit is a 100% electronic gauge with a computer controlled stepper motor inside of it which moves the needle.

since the new one has a motor, do think it will have the longevity of the stewart warner guage?

I am pretty sure the OEM instrument cluster needles are stepper motor driven so the gauge should last as long as they do.

In the end a gauge is a gauge. They all do the same thing.

It is just a matter of accuracy and functionality which increases price.

The Omori gauges I first used cost as much as the stepper motor driven gauges. Is it as good? Not when it buzzes

Get the stepper gauge, you will not be dissapointed. Do it once, do it right.
