They should be very similar to H&R springs. I think they may even be made by H&R, but I'll have to check.

I spoke with someone who used to have a the springs on their Mk4 Gti and they said it was a 1.5" drop, which is 40mm.

Springs are for quattro only btw.

Re: Clearance on ABT lowering springs for the B6 1.8t

i was interested in these, but i will probably end up going coilovers later on anyways, so i guess i will pass this time. great deal, espeically for the locals, just buy the shocks and get almost free installation. can't beat that.

    ABT suspension springs
    to lower ride height

Abt suspension springs lower the ride height in combination with the serial shock absorbers or the Abt ISC shock absorber set.

The lowering of app. 30-40 mm varies depending on the car equipment. Data apply to the standard serial suspension (not to sports suspension).
    http://www.abt-sportsline.de/en/tuni...-springs-1897/

oops, i mean just pay for the shocks and get the springs free with install.

What shocks would you recommend with these? I was thinking about buying an OEM sport setup, but now...

edit: ABT's site says that the standard shocks are okay with these. That can't be right?

We use Koni shocks if we buy them separate from the springs for $595.

Stock shocks will be fine with these, but after 35,000 miles or so the shocks will probably need to be replaced.

I have the sport shocks on my USP. I was thinking of getting some springs to lower it. Not sure if these would last or would lower to the height I want. My car is FWD though. Can they still work?

im still interested but i need to know what the drop looks like...obvisouly. Do you even have specs of how much it lowers the front and rear? Maybe i can find a comparable picture to look at.

  28. #28

Re: Clearance on ABT lowering springs for the B6 1.8t

They advertise 30-40mm drop, which is 1.2"-1.5".

It should be close to the same drop as H&R springs, which advertise a 1.7" drop in the front and 1.6" in the back.

    These springs are good.
I've had them for almost 2 years now.
The front of my car at the moment has about a 2 to 3 finger gap and the rear has about 1 finger gap. (Paired with 19" wheels) I think it's a pretty good height as you can still go to any place without having to worry about bottoming out or anything.
