I think Ill buy an A4

When the new A4 comes out I think Im going to pick one of those up and not bother with the S4. This is the way I look at it. Not fond of a V6 supercharged, Rather have a proven 4cyl turbo and do a software upgrade to it and call it a day. I had a modded 2.0T before I bought the S4. I love my S4 and If the S4 was coming back out with another V8 or BITURBO 6cyl then It would be worth it. IDK guys, but what I do know is Im sticking with an Audi. Audi for life.

P.S. I was thinking about keeping my B7 S4 for awhile and also having the new A4. Best of both worlds. ( or not worth it).

Software upgrade on the A4 will not get you over 300hp. Really, I don't think the B8 A4 has anything over the B8 S4 unless your going BT or your looking for something more fuel efficient, although the B8 S4 will have slightly better fuel economy than the current S4s. Stock for stock the B8 S4 is still the overall better car if money is not the issue.

Why not keep the B7 S4 until the B8 is "proven"? Personally, I won't be getting the S4 nor the A4 as my next car. If the RS4 is still around, that will be at the top of my Audi list... but that's several years down the road.

some cars are timeless like old 5 cyl audi and I think that the v8 S4(B6-B7) will be. I miss Audi badly and will pick one up within next year to replace the veedub. I will replace the 135 after by probably an other Bmw if the new S4 is overpriced again(70K cdn for base too high) vs 52K for a base 335I

i was in the same boat...but what made me take the plunge to buy a B7 S4 was:

1) A4 won't have the Sprint Blue for 09 and I'm not very patient
2) Because of the fact B8 is coming out & gas prices, I got a very good deal on the B7 S4...
3) 2.9% APR...can't beat that.

However, I agree B8's have THE BEST interior/panels/center console I have ever seen!!!

Im not saying that the S4 is not going to be better and im deff not saying with just a software upgrade it will be faster, im just speaking out saying that my S4 I have now seems to be better. I wonder if audi is going to keep the same price for the S4 or drop it a little due to the fact that it does not compete against M3 ect...

BTW: I use to have a Datonya 500 Grand Prix GTP (supercharged 6cyl). I did SLP exhaust, Intake, and changed the pullies on the charger. dynoed at 288whp. thats right under 300 horse. Pontiac is a piece of shit and this is why i think Im against 6cyl supercharged because I have this engine engraved in my head. (just thought i would tell you guys)

6cylinders are dumb to me. Either you wanna make power or save on gas, inbetween doesnt cut it for me.
