stasis 6speed tranny on EBAY

How much is a used stasis tranny? new stasis tranny? i dont know if i should buy a used "EBAY" or new stasis transmission or if i should rebuild my old one. how do i know if a used tranny is not broken? is it hard to rebuild a broken tranny? should i buy the stasis tranny thats on ebay? i have 1 day left to make my decision and i am confused. can someone with exsperience please help me out? Thanks.

Wow, that is a lot of questions. I would say it depends on what your budget is and how much horsepower you have. Obviously the new is going to be the best choice.

Its my girls car, she has no reverse. she has to drive into parking places, she is not able paralel park and something is wrong with her 3rd gear. its driving me crazy. the car has to be fixed.

If she isnt doing anything crazy with the car then just get the JHM rebuild kit.

This will give you the new and improoved synchros as well.

+1 thats more than likely the problem....

search for "shifter alignment" on how to do it, or go to jhm's website and watch the video on how to align it, it's a pain in the ass to do.

Your not a mechanic, thats for sure. Don't go buying a transmission, take it to someone who knows what there doing. That reverse problem is the shifter is out of alignment, which is easily fixed.

she told me that she was racing a red bmw 335. she said she was ahead of the 335 by 3 -4 cars in 3rd gear. then she said she tried to put the car in the fourth gear, she did not have the clutch all the way down, she heard a grinding noise and then she forced the shifter into the fourth gear. she said that the BM was very slow, but now i have to get her broke audi fixed.

Well with her forcing into 4th gear can mess up the sinchro and bend the linkage or get it out of an alighment. Like everybody said take it to a shop that knows their stuff and have them check it out, even though some shops are good they can still be wrong if they tell you that your tranny is messed up. I'm not saying that it is not but it's always good to get more than one mechanic look at it.
