    Phone Jack/Ethernet Plug-in In your a4?

I've noticed either a phone jack or Ethernet plug in when I open my arm rest, I'm not sure which one I just got my car and only looked at it like twice because it's not registered yet...I've never heard of this in an a4 before so I was wondering if anyone else had this option on their a4 and if so how does it work?...is their a satellite in the car or something?

I had a phone in my 2.8 when I got it... If it is fully equipped for it, it will have an antenna on the back window... I ripped it out and threw it away...

its an ethernet port for your cars wireless internet system. you can subscribe to the broadband service through audi of america, and it will also connect automatically to the nearest wireless hotspot such as starbucks.

hmm I knew it looked bigger than a phone jack but I didn't think in 99 that the Ethernet was that popular...either way that's awesome.

LOL, he was just joking. What you are seeing is just a Motorola install cable, that is the end that you plug a car phone hand set into. You can find the other end of the cable which actually plugs into a 3 watt cell phone module in the back left corner of the car right next to where the radio amp is located.
