John Huber doesn't work there anymore. He was the only reason I take my car there (120+ mile drive one way). Consider this a warning about Nalley.
Friday on my way home from work I got a CEL (first one in almost 48k miles). I call Nalley and ask if I can get in tomorrow as I'll be up there getting my new rims put on. The new service adviser says, sure, but tells me it's probably just the gas cap. I ask where John is and am told he doesn't work there anymore (they're hush-hush about it).
I check my car right quick, seems ok, so I drive on. The next day I get up to Butler Tires and get my new rims put on, then go to Nalley.
I'm told right off the bat that having the codes looked at will be a minimum charge of $110.00 even if there is nothing that can be done. If there is something that can be done, then the vag is free.
I live to far away to come back if there is an issue. I tell them to vag it and I'll pay the fee.
Car is throwing a coilpack code on cylinder one for periodic interruptions. I had the 50,000 mile service done 2,500 miles ago at Nalley (this included new plugs).
The tech. works on my car and after a few hours (they told me it'd be super quick) I ask what the deal is. So they tell me that there is some gunk on the spark plug that needs to be cleaned and they're almost done. I had them check all plugs at that point.
They finish and I'm waiting for the bill, sure enough they charge me for cleaning the spark plug. I ask the new guy why. My car is CPO'd and Nalley just did the 50,000 service? They don't stand behind their work anymore? He says it's considered maintenance. Then he said that if the plug or coilpack needed to be replaced then everything would have been covered by warranty.
I'm already late, so I paid them.
Basically, I'm done with these dudes. I shouldn't have had to pay for the service esp. since they did the spark plugs a month ago. I don't know if the service manager is trying to raise their revenue.
I do know that if John had been there, he'd have done the right thing and stood behind the work.
What other good audi shops are in GA/AL?
