Avoid Town Motors Audi in Englewood NJ

Bought my CPO 2004 S4 8 months ago for 30k+ from Town Motors in Englewood, NJ and continue to find problem after problem which should not have passed CPO inspection. I am over 60 miles from the dealer, bought from them because they had the exact color combination I was looking for.

    1) Front windshield was replaced with aftermarket non-audi windshield. Trim does not fit properly and glass quality very poor. Should not have passed CPO inspection

    2) Rear bumper was sprayed, now bubbling and peeling, also have found overspray on trim. Very poor touch-up work.

    3) Brakes much lower then stated in CPO report, needed to be replaced by local Audi dealer only 2 months later. Luckily this was covered by warranty.

    4) Tires needed to be replaced almost immediately, should not have passed CPO inspection. My servicing dealer told me the tires were not replaced properly and had uneven tread wear. Should not have passed CPO inspection.

    5) Only a single key was provided and after 8 months still have not got any additional keys as promised. Finally broke down and bought a key from local dealer.

    6) Vehicle did not have an inspection sticker when delivered to me! Are you kidding me!! I had to take to a state inspection facility and get it inspected myself. They claim it was "overlooked." bought in NJ live in NJ -- i don't think this is even legal.

I expected much more from a Audi CPO vehicle, this vehicle seems to be no better then one would get directly from a wholesale auction. My servicing audi dealer refuses to fix the trim problems around the windshield.

To make matters worse, it is impossible to get either my salesmen or the Audi CPO GM on the phone. I've tried on a number of occasions to reach them for over 25 minutes only to get bounced around between voice mail boxes. Eventually they call back but never when I can take their call... they are impossible to deal with.

One more thing I recall... when i picked the vehicle up it had CEL light on and it turns out the guys who detailed it prior to customer delivery washed the engine directly and they had to replace most of the coil packs as a result... i waited around for a few hours while they fixed it.

You are not alone as far as buying an Audi CPO car with alot of issues that just shouldn't be in this type car. Jack Daniels has sold several cars to customers which had a Carfax accident report that was never disclosed to the customer even though they sold the car as CPO.You can file a complaint with the NJ Office of the Attorney General at 973-504-6200 if you feel that you were illegally sold a car with problems that weren't disclosed to you.You can call Audi of America at 1-800-822-2834, but it is doubtful that they will help. Also, the Bergen County Consumer Affairs office is 201-336-6400.

Sorry to hear about this. I had gone down ther to look at an Avant, was not impressed at all by the facility or sales-people... not that I have ever been impressed by a car salesmen anyways, but this place seemed to be sub-par. Car salesman= scum of the earth... always will be.

I've had a fairly positive experience at Town Motors so far (knock on wood). Not denying anything you've said, but people should hear the good with the bad, and vice versa. My service advisor definitely is a good guy

Didn't mean to bring this thread back to life but I figured I would give fair warning to those buying from town...
DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, LOOK ELSEWHERE
I personally bought a car from there under two months ago and have been fighting through AOA with them and finally they agreed to fix the shitty job of trying to cover scratches on the front and rear bumpers by having them sprayed and not prepped first... So all the paint chipped off. They claimed it was not like that when they sold the car, OBVIOUSLY
They also sold me the car with no keys then played dumb. So me and the original posters probably aren't alone here.
They are so rude and will do everything they can to be cheap with your car.
Avoid them and save yourself the hassle

    bump after my experience

About a month ago I was looking for a CPO B7. After tonnes of searching due to my restrictions of Manual Transmissions that are only in black red or white, I finally found my car at Town Audi in Englewood NJ. My parents had already leased a 2001 A6 from them previously and when they returned it found that Town had changed the mileage/year. This should have been my first caution to not proceed any farther with these people. I decided to keep going because they were in possession of a beautiful Brilliant Black '08 CPO. We traded in an '05 A6 for the A4. During this their used car manager claimed that our A6's hood had been repainted, which it had not been. After escalation to make the deal go through the manager said that he would repair some of the damage that was on the A4. Lo and behold there was a considerable amount. The previous owner was an old man with a small garage. We set up an appointment for the repairs two weeks after delivery of the car. Two weeks went by and I was still madly in love with the B7 and was sad to let it leave my sights to be repaired. They said the repairs would be two days. A week later I drove down to the dealership (I am currently in Fairfield CT, 160 mile round trip) to find that they had not done a majority of the repairs. Not only this but they also put a dent in the hood and the front driver's side fender was misaligned. After a big to do they finally said that they would take the car back and finish what they had started. They told me I would have it back Monday at the latest. As of right now Town Audi and I have had the B7 for equal amounts of time.

So please no one else go to this stealership.

Snowboardguy989, although I fully appreciate your situation, I have now heard the other side of this story. Please allow me to address your concerns.

How did you find out that we changed the mileage? The only way to do so would be to remove the cluster and reprogram which is against the law. I would like to see proof of this. If this is just heresay, then please edit your post as this is libelist.

Your 05 A6 was found to be repainted, were you the only owner? If there was a previous owner it may have been painted prior to you getting the car. We look at many cars all day and a repaint is easily detectable. Please be absolutly sure before writing something in print.

How did you know the previous owner was an old man with a small garage? That seems like a lot of information that even I may not be aware of. I sell these cars and I don't know who the previous owners are nor the size of their garage.

I just received an email from my general manager regarding your issues. We gave you promises in writing and at the end repaired more than we agreed upon. Just to add to this, we also gave you a free detail, full tank of gas and delivered the car to your home.

I understand that you are angry about your situation and if you would like to discuss even further, then please feel free to do so. We said that you would have your car back on Monday at the latest. Today is Tuesday so I apologize for the one day delay.

I don't mean to contridict the things that you have said, but I do work here and I work very hard to make my customers happy as the rest of the staff does. That's why I felt the need to reply to this post. I hope I have addressed all of your concerns. If you have any further issues, our general manager is more than willing to address them directly.

I wasn't advertising my business, I was defending it.

Yes I did, on my first one. We are working on becoming an advertiser on the forum. However, my post on this thread was not an advertisment at all.
