Looking to go 9" wide with 18's in the rear. Any adaptors needed or just put the rims on and go?

as long as they're the right fitment you should have no problem at all running a 9" wide wheel

    Re: B5 A4 rear wheels/rims

Should be ok with the right offset. I'm running a +35 offset on 8.5 inch wheels with a 235 tire and I needed 10mm spacers to keep from rubbing the control arm in the rear.
