    Question About Temperamental Car

Ok guys, i did a search and got a million results, none which seem to fully cover my problem. Heres what happening, starting about a week ago, my ECON button comes on and stays on every once and a while. It seems to be triggered by the rain, but it could just be coincidence. From what i read, its sounds like its a leak in my a/c line, compressor is shot, or im out of freon. But im not convinced about those things because the problem is sporadic. When it works, it works great! I tested it by running it on low at full blast for my entire drive home 45min, cold as ice. But then it rained that nice and the next day, back to ECON. So any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I'm no expert, but could it be that the humidity is affecting the switch on the A/C compressor?

If your AC is cold at any point - you do not need to recharge the system. I think the previous mention of switch atthe compresssor or and other area's in the engine bay which might be getting moisture in them.

Another area could be problems with the dash control panel. Do you have a vag-com or someone close by who can run a diagnostic check? That might be the best place to start.

For future reference, it was the high pressure switch!

Then recharging it could have caused a nasty problem, like an explosion of refrigerant all over the place.
