    Painted FMIC [pics]

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just painted my FMIC yesterday. I first sanded it down with 80 grit with one of those sponge sand blocks. Rinsed it, then let it dry with the leaf blower. Then I hung it up and cleaned it with wax/grease remover (from a rattle can so it would get inside the fins). Then sprayed 4-5 coats using the Eastwood Radiator paint. Let it dry for a couple hours and installed it. Then I redid my piping so I could use some black couplers.
    hope you like!

It looks really good. Paint those chrome couplers (IMO of course) and you're all set.

I like the way it looks, BUT, when its not painted it gives the front of the car an aggressive look.

    Re: Painted FMIC [pics]

It did look aggressive before like I was pack'n but I enjoy the more civilized look where it doesnt seem like I'm a crazy car modder. I guess its more of a sleeper now. But I did use the radiator paint and I tried to be thin on the coats.

I actually like the look of the metal clamps being metal. You can still tell that the FMIC is there, but it is very very subtle.
