B5S4 brakes and wheels question...

i searched and came up with lots of (sometimes conflicting) information. I have questions about 2 sets of wheels and whether they will fit over B5S4 brakes on my '02 B6 avant with oem sport suspension. if they won't clear, what size spacer would i need to make it work?

wheel #1 - 18x8 HP Evo with ET38
wheel #2 - 18x8 B7S4 "BBS CH" with ET 43

i currently have the HPs, but have a line on the S4 wheels. either way, i'm upgrading to the B5S4 brakes soon and need to be prepared with the right wheel setup.

The S4 wheels should clear with a small spacer if one is even needed. My guess with the HP's is that you will need a 12-15mm spacer

thanks for the input... will 5mm on the S4 wheels (ET43) be enough, or will i need 8mm?

do you really think the HPs will take 12 to 15mm spacers? that would make them poke quite a bit, i think. they are ET38 already - that would make them ET23 to ET26...

I dont think you'll need anything with the S4 wheels honestly. Yes the HP's will need at least a 10mm if not a 12-15, the spokes are not BBK friendly

I agree. If the wheels are anything like the B6 Avant wheels you'll be fine. My B5 S4 front brakes clear my B6 Avant wheels without spacers (they are my winter get-up).
