Ran my car at the track today...

    Personal best of the night:
    R/T .3520
    60ft: 2.06
    1.8th 9.49
    1/4 : 14.93
    mph: 90.68

I lost in Eliminations b/c the Turbo Neon R/T I was up against swapped drivers from when I beat him earlier. ... And I missed 2nd. That never happens to me.

Is that good for the mods I have listed in my Sig?

EDIT: I installed a K03s earlier today. It hasn't been retuned or anything, just swapped in the turbo and drive it to the track.

yea but would think your mph would be higher with the 4:1 diff mod, i also ran 14.9 last yr but trapped at 91.xx and i had the stock quattro setup, now get a test pipe and run mid 14's! Oh also how how/humid was it that may explain a little bit, oh and what did the turbo neon run?

Re: Ran my car at the track today...

I was running 15.1's heat soakin.
It rained about 5hrs earlier. the 14.9 was after the car cooled down and temps were high 60's low 70's. I couldn't tell ya exact humidity.

I have a test pipe installed.
I was running about 3/8ths a tank of half 92oct and half 93 oct. I can generally tell when it's pulling timing, and it didn't feel like it was today.

pretty solid numbers. I don't think the 4:1 really helps you on the drag strip as far as trap speeds go.

Turbo Neon depended on driver. 14.8-15.2ish.

According to Unitronic claims 18psi on the Stage 1+ tune.
Now I want to finish hooking up the FMIC. The core is mounted, just no piping yet.

Thanks, I don't think so either. I still chirped the front tires a bit launching at ~4K

Nah, it was an old 2 door R/T 420A engine w/ some generic turbo at 8psi.
EDIT: FWIW a buddy of mine is running an SRT4. "Stock" (so he says) he was running 13.03's, sprayin an 75 shot he ran an 11.6. Putting down 426whp on an open down pipe. Not bad if you ask me.

I was shifting between 6300 and 6500rpm. I was hittin 4th for the last 150ft of the track. I wish I could spin 7500, so I could've just let it wind out.

I actually was running faster than a kid drivin an S2000. There was a Ram 2500 Diesel, Quad Cab, Std bed running consistent 15.2's.

    With 8000K HID's I expect 14.2's....nothing less.

J/K, the numbers seem inline to me.

Just so you know, the 4:1 torsen mod doesn't do anything to change how the car runs at the drags. It only changes to 4:1 during load and the car is not under load at all during a 1/4 mile run. It isn't like it is putting more power to the rear wheels while running thru the gears in a straight line, this has even been stated by Stasis.

Your time is about right for what your running. You might be shifting a little late for a K03 since the power drops off hard after 5500 and you really only need to take 1st gear to 6500.

From my understanding it only "splits" power to the wheels when there's a need for speed differences and load variance. I don't see how the 4:1 would help in drag racing. I'm not sure why, but on a launch I'm chirping the front tires. Is that bad?

I swapped out my K03 for a K03s about 1/2hr before I drove down to the track. Maybe it was me, but from driving before and after it didn't feel like it dropped off as hard. The stock K03 I could actually feel it fall off @5500, now it feels like a SOHC running out of wind past 6K.

Part of the reason I swapped it over was b/c I had an exhaust leak between the manifold and the turbo. I had the K03s and 1 of the turbo to manifold bolts was too long and didn't fasten the turbo to the manifold uniformly. It was like that when I bought it, I just fixed it now... 7 months later.

I found that at the end of 2nd gear, if I shift at 6500 I come into 3rd right at 4500rpm. It seems to pull 3rd harder that way. I didn't like hitting 4th for the last 150ft or so either. I'm happy with what I got. I was expecting 15.2's

Well it will all depend on how much boost your running, the higher the boost the quicker the boost will start to fall off. So if your running 16-18psi then yes you can take the gear a little further, I had to shift sooner running 20psi.

Re: Ran my car at the track today...

I have to correct myself on one of my above comments. When I engaged 3rd I'm @ ~4700rpm, not 4500.

After I get the FMIC finished I'm going to try 20psi with a set of 310's. I'm curious what'll happen and what will change.

What about 60' times? I was hoping to be less than a 2.0, and my best was a 2.06 launching a smidge over 4K. What is a full weight car capable of?

You should be able to pull off a 1.8-1.9 with the K03's, has been done by a hand full of people.

Re: Ran my car at the track today...

How? What am I doing wrong? Should I be launching it harder, or higher rpm's?
Given I'm running Goodyear Eagle RSA 205/55R16's, I'm not losing enough traction to lose 2 tenths.

Next time you go, do like Mike said and shift at 5300-5500. Yes, it may seem like the car is still pulling but in actuality you are out of the turbo's prime power band. A 5500 shift should throw you around 3300ish rpms, which is the a pretty good spot.

I bet you will pick up at least a MPH.

    Good times though.

Next time I go will be after some additional mods. I don't wanna beat on the ol' gal that much.

Next time I plan on going my FMIC will be done, I'm porting my TB and intake, and maybe some W/M inj.

Neon didn't know how to drive... I ran that STOCK on my 01 R/T... They are even heavier than the 1st Gen Neon with the same power, yet are quicker... Even still, that Neon should have been at least low 14's...

I'll let you tell him that. He couldn't hook no matter how hard he tried. I heard he was wheel hopping too. I don't know b/c I never watched him race, and when I raced him I was .8-.9 sec ahead of him by 60'

    I found out he was running a Big 16G, @ 8psi.

Drove to the track, raced, and drove home. All at 40psi. I'm running all seasons.
