Interesting.
I like my SS's a lot and obtained them new last year, for a great price. They were within $50 or so of the comparable 'plain' Koni kit, so for what the STaSIS SS's offer, I thought it to be a good value over a "un-tuned" kit.
Considering the STaSIS kit comes "tuned", preset, adjusted for a B5 Audi A4, and the fact that these and most shocks cannot be adjusted ON the car, I GREATLY appreciated having some experienced knowledge applied to this kit, as basic as it may be, before I got it. I would not have enjoyed figuring out much of that on my own, removing wheels and half tearing down the suspension to adjust it, test drive it and ask myself repeatedly, "is this it?.... is this it?"
Here are some other bits of feedback I have read.... if you search, you'll find the same/similar comparo's/comments. Lots of people who have SS's saying they love 'em and lots of people commenting they're no different and some say "a waste of $$".
Come on guys, use the search feature. The Stasis are the same as the Konis, except: they provide nylon spring seat washers for easier (but not much) height adjustability, and they dyno tune the shocks to a very streetable rebound setting to match the springs. Hence, they ride much better than the Konis out of the box. I'd say the extra service they do on them is worth it. Don't skimp ride for price if you use your ride primarily as a daily driver. You can find SS for $900 or less, even cheaper if they're used and have low miles.
