    who can analyze plugs???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i decided to change my plugs today. i followed the writeup on a4mods when i chose the plug. went w/ the ngk bkr6e since i'm in pa... now i changed them really just because i have put more than 30k on the car since i got it and never touched them. and at 101k miles on the car now, figured i'd give them a change since i'm also apr 1+. made sure the new plugs were gapped @.032". and when i pulled the old plugs, they are some autolite platinum something and the gaps were as follows....

    cyl: 1.. .045
    2.. .044
    3.. .045
    4.. .047

here are the pics of the plugs starting w/ cyl 1 and ending w/ 4... and the last pic is the plugs from left to right, 1-4..

can anyone tell anything by looking at them other than the obvious.. they arent in the car anymore...

not bad looking. they all should look the same but they don't.
install new plugs gapped to factory spec and re-inspect after 5k miles.

You can read them with this: http://www.centuryperformance.com/sp...g-spg-192.html
However, like a2gtinut said, I'd just try new ones in (With correct gap) and see what you get.

    Re: who can analyze plugs???

i already got new plugs put in.... just wondering if anyone could tell anything from what came out.. runnin rich, lean, detonation, etc....the gap on the old plugs was bigger than what is spec'd. keep in mind, motor is almost to 101k miles... the old plugs have at least 30k on them

They look fine, good color, but they look to have some fuel additive stuck to them. #3 looks lean but it will on all our cars. That cyl. gets the most air and the ECU can't adjust individual cyl. A/F.

Old spark plug's gap is always like that. Their gap always gets bigger.
