    It's here - Sprint Blue B7 S4

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi all,

First of all, I would like to thank fellow board members for helping me out with my questions all this time. I have always been a fan of Sprint Blue S4/RS4. After seeing so many gorgeous Sprint Blue S4/RS4's on here...it's hard to resist this color. One can say I bought this car simply because of 'this color'! After seeing Cargo4 (gorgeous DTM Package & pics), Channad (awesome videos), and Miostile's photos...etc....they really helped me make up my mind even more!

So after months of researching, I have finally found a great deal (4.6K under MSRP but add 800 to bring it from CA to Seattle). It's finally here today and I had a chance to snap some shots before it got dark... Hope you enjoy this car as much as I do. Thank you in advance for looking!

    Re: It's here - Sprint Blue B7 S4

    Questions:

    1) I thought I heard 2 *beeping* sounds when I locked the car this morning with remote...but now I only hear it beep once? How many times is it supposed to beep?

    2) Where do you find your Nav DVD? I can't seem to find it anywhere in the car nor in the black case (where they put the manuals in)...

    Thanks...

    1) Its suppose to beep once when you lock it.

    2) If you have the Nav Plus, there should be a rectangle button with an arrow pointing at it. Hit that button, and the screen comes out. There you will find the DVD slot where the Nav disc is, and two SD card slots.

Love the color, Welcome and congrats !

Welcome and congratulations! You're gonna love that car. I love the frost interior. I had it in my B6 and really miss it now, the interior color that is.

Your photo skills are really up there. I have one question though. In the pic of the rear badge, your paint doesn't look factory. Has it been repainted there?

RAudi, don't scare me... I think it's because of the post production I did to this pic...(made it dark and saturated)...haha... but I will go out there and check just in case.

    Thx!

WOW- good eye. Now that you mention that, i see the same repainted orange peel effect on the left side of the V8 emblem (the door) in the wheel picture.. i hope the whole car hasnt been repainted (poorly)

-- could be just photoshop making that look like that?

Nice car, great photo skillz . I checked out your website...wow, you're very very good. I'm no photographer, but I appreciate good work. I particularly like the pic (under tab "Passion") of the guy looking back at his ride , there's hardly a guy (or gal) on here who couldn't relate. That's soo me. I love looking back at my car and look forward to seeing it when I walk back out to the lot. Hell, I even strategically park so as to have a good view when coming out of Starbucks or Barnes and Noble, or whatever, whenever possible. I'm sick Were any of the cars yours?
Thanks for sharing and welcome to the mix.

Ok, I just got done looking at that website. All I can say is WOW! It's going into my favorites link and will be forwarded to any friends of mine who are getting married.

This shutterbug's got some mad skills! Can I ask what kid of equipment do you have and/or use the most?

    Re: It's here - Sprint Blue B7 S4

wow...just got back from shooting a wedding and saw a lot of replies...

    Littlerdwagen, thank you!

nimski62, I hope that's not the case... the car is 08 and it only had 34 miles when it was delivered yesterday... I will take a look closely...but it might just be the photoshop (over-did it on my part)...

S4J, thank you for the kind words and taking the time to look at my site. The only car under "passion" that belongs to my wife and I is the Cayenne S.. Most of the cars were shot in the past when shooting for Do-Luck-USA & Toyo Tire...and my friends of course...

    wwb4, thank you!

Pesapc, thank you. Learned it from my dad, looking at other ppl's work and practice.

    aspw, thank you!

FastB7S4, thank you as well! Yes..it's worth the wait..

mus27, thank you! I shoot weddings mostly. I love shooting cars, too...but that doesn't really pay.

    RAudi, thank you! I shoot from Canon Xti, 30d, 40d, to 1D mark 2... Lens wise I love 70-200mm, 85mm, and 10-22mm. Flash wise, 550ex, 580ex, 580ex2...

    Thank you all once again!

    Hey guys,

I just talked to my wife, who pointed out the possible cause of the 'repaint' issue... She mentions that you might have mistakened the clouds (which were reflected off the paint) for the poor paint job?

Thanks for looking out for a fellow AZ member!

I think Raudi was referring to what is known as "orange peel" on the rear shot of your s4.

Orange peel is a certain kind of finish that may develop on painted surfaces and cast surfaces[1]. The texture resembles the bumpy surface of the skin of an orange (fruit) hence the name.

Gloss paint sprayed on a smooth surface (such as the body of a car) should also dry into a smooth surface. However, various factors can cause it to dry into a bumpy surface resembling the texture of an orange peel. The orange peel phenomenon can then be smoothed out with ultra-fine sandpaper, but it can be prevented altogether by changing the painting technique or the materials used. Orange peel is typically the result of improper painting technique, and is caused by the quick evaporation of thinner, incorrect spray gun setup (e.g., low air pressure or incorrect nozzle), spraying the paint at an angle other than perpendicular, or applying excessive paint.

Looks awesome! You did very well my man!

There is nothing wrong with your paint. All mass-production cars these days have a certain amount of orange peel in the finish. In most light conditions no one even notices it. My car has it. Even MOFSTEEL and Raudi's cars have it, nothing to worry about.

Thank you, Mofsteel for taking the time to explain. I just went outside to check and the paint does not show this texture... Weird that it shows in the pic. I might go out again and check later...

I was only explaining what someone thought they were seeing.
It could very well be the photo itself.
