    APR stage II chip

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
i searched! ok!? but i cant get a solid answer.

I got the 'APR stage I' flash a few months back, and the APR dealer that installed it said that whenever I decide to go stage II with a cat back exhaust he would upgrade/flash my ecu for free to the APR stage II software. Now my question is, what exactly does the APR stage II flash consist of?

I read that it disables the secondary O2 sensors (for piggies). what else does it do?

    thanks in advance

Im sure someone will correct me if Im wrong, but I pretty sure disabling the CEL from coming on is all that it does.

it doesnt "disable the CEL" it just doesnt read the rear o2's. if you were to fully disable this cars CEL it would be like driving down the road with a bag over your head, i bet they used long life bulbs in that bitch!

Tell me about it.. I drove the car for 6 months without a working CEL light. didn't realize it wasn't working until recently. So I opened the cluster the other day and found a rubber plug covering the CEL light. I got so mad. Damn that previous owner, he was a russian mechanic and seemed pretty honest about the car.

So i vag'd the car, and the only DTC was for a faulty MAF, cleaned the shit out of it and cleared the code. CEL's gone

.....anyone else knows what the APR stage II software flash does? I'm only doing a catback for now, would I see any benefit?

That's stage II + code, for the downpipes/testpipes. It ignores the secondary O2 readings.

    +1

If you are not doing anything with your downpipes at this time. I see no benefit whatsoever.

    Re: APR stage II chip

I have the stg 2+ software and as stated above it just does not read the cel. There is no gains to be had by the chip.

Also apr will flash it on there for free, or they did for me.

yes the 2+ file is for deleted cats. you must also delete your primaries with the 2+ file or it will over stress the turbos. i went from 2 to 2+ without deleting my primary cats and popped a perfectly good driverside k03

good to know. So I must first install downpipes/piggies then get stage 2+ software that ignores the rear oxygen sensors.. thanks guys, I have been enlightened.

How did it over stress the turbos? I would think if anything would over stress the turbos it would be the pre-cats since they sit like an inch away from the exhaust end of the turbos. I'm just curious as to how a software code that ignores secondary readings from O2 sensors could cause any more stress than just a "normal" chip. I'm running APR 93 with piggies and exhaust, so like I said, just curious about your experience
