I was wondering if a 2001 30valve (auto) chipped giac ecu, would be compatable with a 2000 30 vavle (manual)?i dont think it will work because of different drivetrains, but i would like to be confirmed.

    thanks in advance,
    peter

As long as the ECU code is the same, and I think it is because it should be the same engine code, then it will work. The car with the manual transmission, which is the one I'm assuming is going to be getting the chipped ECU, will throw a DTC for no communication to the TCU. All that needs to be done is to recode the ECU to a manual transmission. This can be done with a Vag-Com.
