Nice video. I think this car will retake the lead in the category, just like the reviewer said. It's engineered and built beyond the quality of the MB C-Class and BMW 3-series and I think that's going to start becoming ever more evident as the cars start showing up here.

Try not to focus on the less-equipped models. Nobody ever looks at the base C240 or the 325i so don't pay attention to the base factory model 2.0T. With S-Line and a few mods this car is going to be a beauty, albeit more expensive I think than Audi has been in the past. It only makes sense though. With the quality of the materials in Audis and now that they're pursuing better engineered powerplants (like the Supercharged V6 in the S4), I think Audi is going to start costing as much as MB, and more than BMW.

Also, my cousin test drove the S-Line 3.2 in Germany and he says it out-handles and out-performs his e90 328xi by a GREAT deal, if that helps.

Honestly in many ways it looks like an updated B7, especially in motion. I really like it.

I just watched the video again, and I think I was a little harsh on my first impression, I can really see some of the B7 showing through, and on second watch, it didn't look that much bigger. I'll still have to see one in person to make a final opinion.

and to everyone saying "wah it's not small enough" then go buy a B5 S4 for less than 15k and call it a day.

Overall size aside there should not be too much of a difference in weight between the B& & B8. Think about the improvement over the 220hp 3.0 V6 in the B6 which wasn't much lighter.

- the new B8 A4 is going to be lighter than the outgoing model. So even if it's a bigger car - it is lighter and especially lighter where it matters - unsprung weight.

The chassis is lighter. The unsprung weight is lighter. Overall weight is actually up just under 100lbs due to all the extra equipments.

I don't understand how people can see that video, hear the reviewer drool over it and then say "I like the B7 even more now".

I guess that's a good thing for me though... Seeing as how that means I will see less b9 a4s on the road when I get mine.
