    Questions about my tint

I just got my tint installed by my dealer, it came as a bonus with my car. I picked it up about an hour ago and you can see very small bubbles in all of the windows, most noticeably the drivers side window. I know it is a just a film they apply, are these bubbles normal and should go away after allowing the film to sit for a couple of days, or did they just do a real shitty job? They said dont roll down the windows for a couple of days, can I still wash my car tho?

These usually disappear within a few days depending on how big they are.

    Re: Questions about my tint

The bubbles will go away. Don't let the outside of the car get moisture on the windows. It took over a month for them to go away on my GTI (Solargard tint).

    Re: Questions about my tint

they will go away with time, but some films seem to take longer that others. For fathers day last year i had my dad's g-wagon tinted with titanium tint (which is less popular now that they found it has some interference with cell phone service). It took about 2 months for all of the bubbles to disappear.

    Re: Questions about my tint

A good tint job should have no bubbles and should be able to open the windows as soon as you get your car back. That's being said, poorer installations might have small bubbles that should go away as the film drys. If not, have them redo the job.

    Re: Questions about my tint

exactly. There should not be any air bubbles that are too noticeable. Wait 48 hours and see how they do. You might want to park in the sun as well. If they are still there, take it back in. I just hope they are air-bubbles and not dust.

    Any pics?

    Re: Questions about my tint

Its true. A properly done tint job will have no bubbles at all.

Give it 48 hours dry time... take it back

    Re: Questions about my tint

Are these air bubbles or water bubbles? That should have been the first question posted!

Air will be white, like printer paper, water bubbles will be gray or sometimes have a shiny look to them due to the soap mixture. If these bubbles are white, then take it back, if they are gray, then they will go away. Also you should be able to roll your windows down no later than 24 hours after the tint job, although some shops recommend longer waiting times just for that added security.

    Re: Questions about my tint

They really didn't tell me much about it at all. Seeing as it was at my dealships collision repair shop that isnt strictly audi, and that I got the tint added in for free with the purchase of my car, I guess they decided not to treat me like a normal customer. They gave me a loaner with the tank on empty (luckily I live about 2 minutes away), told me they would call when it was done, which they didnt, so I drove down and they said it had been done for 2 hours, then the receptionist just handed me my key and told me I was good to go. Being clueless like I am, I asked to talk to the person who installed the tint, and asked him if I am supposed to do anything special for a couple days, to which he responded "There should be a sticker in there telling you what to do". Well of course, there was no sticker, so I went back in and he gave me the old 'im busy ill give you a half-ass answer' and told me not to roll my windows down for 3 days. I have no problem staying on the cautious side, and didn't notice the bubbles all that much at first, but they are definately there. I will take out my camera in a bit and snap a couple of pictures, hopefully they come out where you guys can tell me whats going on, thanks!

Yeah let the sun bake it for a couple days. Any bubbles will typically go away. If not...take her back to get it re-done.

    Re: Questions about my tint

They always appears a couple of hours after the install. My tints were installed when it was like 30-40 outside, then my clutch broke down, so i didnt drive that for like 5-7 days. But they went aways in a bout 4-5 days. My buddy got his tints and it was much warmer, it took him about 2-3 days.

Ok this bugs the crap out of me, why do people add an "s" to tint, tint does not need to be pluralized!!!

Sorry aaaudiprotein, had to get that off my chest because everyone says TINTS, not pickin on you, I just HATE when people call it that.
