    Falken 452 or 912?

K so its time to put some new shoes on the car. I have read the boards and heard pretty good feedback on both of these tires. Ive heard that the 452's wear out real quick. But considering ive gone through my continentals in 15k without even driving the car very hard i find it hard to beleive that anything could be worse. I know the treat wear rating on the 912 is slightly better but i want to hear from people who have tried these tires.

    Re: Falken 452 or 912?

as a Falken 452 owner/user I can vouch by saying that they are great. Ive only had them on for about 4k but they handle extremely better than the stock Pirelli P6's I had.
Dry/wet conditions on these tires are exceptionally well and they are virtually silent on the road as well. Comfort wise they pretty close or maybe a little better than the Pirelli P6s.
The best part of these tires is compared to the Pirelli P6's on tight corners and turns the Falken 452 stick/grip the ground far better than the Pirelli's and make hardly any noise doing so.. The Pirelli P6's would just scream.

The 452's are a summer, directional tire. The 912's are an all-season, non-directional tire. I have the 912's on both of my cars and they have been great for the 10k have I have driven on them. Tire tread life is good so far. I'd buy them again.

I've had 452s, 912s, and 615s. I'm sure you can get more than 15k mi out of the 452s but obviously the 912s will last longer. It all depends on what you want from the tire. If you want life, get the 912s. If you want better performance and looks, get the 452. Personally, I never buy all seasons (the 912s came with the car I bought).

    Re: Falken 452 or 912?

I had 451's on a car a few years back and liked them. Based on the fact that im in SoCal so there is no real need for all season tires i think im gonna go with the 452's. Thanks for the input.

    Re: Falken 452 or 912?

I'll go-sign the 452s. I had a set of 451s in the past and then replaced them with 452s. As soon as these p6s go, or I get new rims, 452s will be mounted.
