So, I was driving home from the Barona drag strip early Saturday morning when all of a sudden out of nowhere comes this Kia spectra doing 100+ mph around the 67S-8W interchange. I had no idea that he was out of control until I see his car coming right at me and by then it was already too late. All I remember is rolling over and over praying to god that it would stop and that I would'nt hit a tree or something that would cause me to get crushed. I finally came to a stop, upside down in the ice plant bed and immediatly unbuckled myself and tried to kick out the drivers side window. I tried a few times with no luck and then I noticed the passenger side windows were already blown so I crawled out of the car and ran over to the freeway to get somebodys attention. I was so shocked and my adrenalin was pumping so hard I did'nt even notice the other drivers car sitting upside down on the other on ramp about 250 ft from my car. He was unconcious and laying on the roof, it seemed like he wasn't wearing his seat belt. The paramedics and police arrived within about 2 mins. I was experiencing pain throughout my back, neck, arms, and hips so they put a neck brace on me, put me on the strecher and took me to Mercy hospital.
All I have to say is I am thankful I am alive and that I escaped serious injury mostly due to German engineering. I have no clue what happened to the other driver. If he is alive, I hope he has learned his lesson not to drink and drive or to drive wrecklessly.
When I went to collect my belongings out of the car at the wrecking yard, his car was sitting on the other side of the forklift. The guy who let us in would'nt let us take pictures of it but you can still see some of the damage in a couple of the pictures. My wallet and a few other things were missing out of the car so we went back to the scene of the accident to find it. There were cd's and car parts AND a BIG bottle of Absolute Vodka laying on the ground with about %25 left in it. I'll bet any money that it was his. I'll find out as soon as I get the accident report hopefully tomorrow.
