When it rains it pours......I need a new clutch

OK after getting frustrated with my warranty company I decided to just pay for new A/C compressor and dryer which came to a grand total of $1504 with installation. Not even 2 weeks out of the shop and my clutch is revving like motorcycle. I've probably got a few weeks before it goes. So I need to know where I can get a good deal on a Southbend OFE SS clutch.

To answer another question you'll have - you can resurface your flywheel for free by sending it to them but will have downtime. Other option is to buy a new one and sell your resurfaced here.

Skip the OFE SS and go directly to the FE SS.

What about that chatter people speak of so often? What does that sound like anyway, I've never heard a clutch chatter before?

neither the FE SS or OFE SS will chatter because you are reusing your OEM dual mass flywheel, just have southbend grind the surface flat. only a single mass flywheel will chatter slightly at idle...

i have the FE SS and like it very much, even my 115lb wife learned to drive my car quite easily.

Chatter is mostly caused by the LWFW (lightweight flywheel). Stickign with the stock LUK brand DMFW (dual mass flywheel) will prevent it.

yes. OFE or FE is the type of clutch disc, SS is the pressure plate.. FE uses feramic on both sides so it gets rid of heat much quicker, wont fade and will last much longer but the downside is it engages very quickly.. but u will get used to it just as quickly!

OFE SS and FE SS are the same engagement. The difference is the clutch plate material. These are stage 4 adn 5 clutches, respectively. Anything less will have the stock engagement feel.

that is pedal effort, the engagement feel is difference... its how the clutch disc actually grabs/engages the flywheel... it is different for the OFE and FE but both take the same effort because they both use the SS pressure plate which is a 50lb pressure plate instead of the stock 30lbs pressure plate
