Summary
So after doing some extensive research on our cars, i've tested the difference between stock and apr 1+ between multiple gas stations, and the results quite frankly aren't that impressive in terms of how many miles i got to a tank. I tried to drive as consistent as possible, albeit, I am human, so results are only reflective to me, and probably not the entire crowd on Az. So just use this as a reference, and not a flame war because I know there are many variables including, temperature, the way i drive, traffic, etc etc. My mods are just basically exhaust, intake, and apr 1+, so the difference is only switching the chips on and off. Therefore stock isn't 100% stock, if you are interested in my mod list, go to my profile. So here are the results of driving approx 70% and 30% local, and when the gas light turned ON.
Results
Sunoco 94 Stockish 290 APR 1+299
Shell Stockish 331 APR 1+354
Mobil Stockish 319 APR 1+331
Costco Stockish 329 APR 1+347
Driving Style
The driving style that i did during the freeway averaged according to the on board computer on the freeway was 76.2 and I stayed in vacuum i would say 90% of the time, since i do have to merge onto the freeway, pass slow grandma buick drivers, etc. But in town, I tried to keep aggressive acceleration to a minimal.
Conclusion
I think its safe to assume that if driven correctly, APR actually improves your miles to the tank, especially if you have more freeway trips. My car is a 2004 a4 1.8t quattro trashtronic with approx 85k miles, running on total (elf) motor oil changed every 5k. Correct tire pressures, plugs are new, intake is cleaned. Basically all the preventative measures of getting better gas mileage, i have done. Although one thing that worrys me is in stock mode, with the tt225 injectors, am I really maximizing the fuel used? That I will let some of the experts here chime in.
