    I bought my car used with AWE stg 3 on it, it has fueling and AWE SMICs among other mods. I see all the posts of OTS kits running like 22-23 Psi. My car is only running 18psi. Is there a way i can turn the boost up with the N75K valve that i have on the car? Or do i have to put a MBC on the car? If i have to put a MBC on, can i just go ahead and turn it up or do i have to mess with Lemmiwinks at all?

    with my awe ots kit, i have been running the vast mbc and tdc. up to 23-24psi, no lemmi and its all good

    Its actually TCD

    throttle cut defender


    when the ecu sees a certain amount of boost (over limit) itll cut throttle.. this stops that from happening


    my AWE OTS kit boosts 23 spike then tapers to 21.

    no MBC or anything else

    Hey man, don't sweat the 18-19 pounds. My AWE stage 3 was the same before i installed the mbc and tcd. I've heard from other people that they are seeing the same thing.

    It's probably just a leak. Definitely don't install an MBC until you pressure test

    do you need the TCD to run 20-21 psi? I'm gonna pressure test it next week. Hopefully there are no leaks

    it sounds like theres something going on.... you are in maryland so im guessing right around sea level yeah? 18PSI is more along the lines of K03 numbers. i also vote boost leak

    yea, pretty much right around sea level. Dont get me wrong, the car still moves. I ran my buddy who is APR stage 3 and we were like dead even. Him running 20 psi me at 18. The car holds boost fine, I just replaced the TBB. I'll pressure check it next week. Can I run a hallman pro MBC, or is there anyway I can control boost with the N75K valve I have?

    Nobody sells the TCD anymore, but I happen to have 1 VAST fully adjustable TCD left over in stock if anybody wants it...

    my real question is, how much boost can I run before the ECU cuts throttle?
    why does no one sell the TCD anymore?

    It depends on what altitude you're at. The Requested and actual boost can't differ by more than 4psi IIRC before you get TC.

    They don't sell them anymore because instead of helping people jimmy-rig their current setups written by other tuners, they would rather sell you their tune (which runs beautifully) instead.

    I logged block 119, but that only showed actual boost in mBar and not requested boost.

    I know this is stupid, but how should i post the logs that i take?

    Log block 115 as well.

    Make a graph in excel using the info that you logged. Then email me the excel file or post it as a pic.

    I had Induktion Smoke test and pressure test the car. There NO leaks anywhere. They also tested the wastegate lines to make sure they werent leaking. No problems there either. Still cant figure out why it isnt making the requested boost.

    I logged it again and this time it was making 22psi but it was requesting almost 24psi.

    idk if the tune in the car just sucks or something else is wrong.

    The first thing I would do at this point is swap out that N75k for an OEM N75 valve.

    It looks like the stock N75 is doing a better job than that K. I'm looking @ this from my phone but it seems that your req and act seem to be more on par. How is the condition of the intercoolers? Sometimes they can leak if they have rock nicks etc. If you want to log 115 that's also boost. Never used 119 for boost b4 but I'm sure jordan knows what he's sayin!

    Not sure if you know this but the variation in req vs act towards the beginning and end of being on the throttle is just the diverter valves doing their thing. That's why your last few numbers are so off.

    That log is block 115. Yes, it seems that the stock B valve is doing a better job than my K valve. The only problem with the B valve is that in the car if feels like the car is dead below 4k and than kicks REAL hard after 4k and than tapers a tad.

    im thinking that my N75K valve is bad and needs to be replaced. Are there other N75s to use besides the K and B valves?

    The only thing that is scaring me is the fact that in 4th gear, the second part of the log after boost drops off and comes back on, the boost is higher than requested. I have not taken the car all the way thru 4th or into 5th yet so i dont know how high it will go in those gears.

    why not just run a boost controller in parallel to clip the boost spikes when your crank it up to your desired boost?

    Is that N75b a known-working valve? It looks like you either have a boost leak somewhere (possibly the IC's), or else that valve is also FUBAR.
    The minor over-boosting is not a problem. If it were 3 or 4 psi then I would worry. Your boost doesn't come on til 4k rpms which is why the car feels slow.
    BTW, only use the N75k race valve if your car is tuned for it.

    I dont know if the N75B is working or not. It was given to me when i bought the car. I have a feeling it isnt working right based on how it is boosting which is why i am running the car on stock map and stock boost right now.

    When i bought the car, it had the N75K on it. idk if it tuned for it, i doubt it as it will only boost 20psi

    Judging by the way it was running, the car isn't tuned for that k valve.

    Yea, I am trying to get my hands on another B valve to test to see if it broken or not.

    My friend said he might have a J valve or something, What are the differences in the different N75 valves? Which one would be best to use?

    Also, there are no boost leaks whatsoever. The car was pressure tested and smoke tested a day ago.

    try to scoop a new N75 up... im trying to think of the boost freq valve duty cycle in VAG but its not ringing a bell. maybe you can log that and it will show whats going on with it.... ive never heard of all these different letters after the N75 ! lol sounds like the alphabet to me

    Ok, so i put a brand new N75K on the car. Runs perfectly. Car hauls ass!

    Now just to do my basic maintenance shit :(

    Ill do some logs later today just to make sure
