Last Monday my check engine light came on, so I popped the hood to take a look.... and look what I found. Since my CEL come on I've noticed considerably better MPG, I found it interesting and thought I'd share.

I'm not familiar with the TT, but is that the hose ripped off of the diverter valve?

Any ideas how that happened?

The hose is dry and brittle from heat exposure over time. It ripped off of the metal object in the foreground, not sure what it's called. The Diverter is in the top of the picture (shinny anodized black 007).

Run lean- will toast your pistons and valves. Fix it.

thats the combi valve, connects to the electric air pump. that valve is also referred to as the EGR valve

combi valve, you're probably running lean like the guy said 2 posts above me..
