Hi, I'm looking at leaving the clouds and lowerin my ride.

For a B6 A4, are the coilovers still adjustable while they are installed on the car?

No it's not, some setups can't be adjusted while on the car.

On some, the rears are a royal PITA to adjust once on. Vogtlands, on the other hand, are a piece of cake.

Yeah Vogtlands are prolly the easiest to adjust... But if you got some experience, it just gonna take you longer to adjust any other adjustable coilovers.

    Like??

All the ones I know of are adjustable while on the car.
Thats how you can dial your car in to its optimal setup.

    Re: Are Installed coilovers adjustable?

I heard that rear coilovers are NOT adjustable when installed on and A4 due to space constraints.

I also wanted to check the fronts and that would suck a** it NOT adjustable.

I'm looking at KW Coilovers, heard the ride was good for daily drivin

You still haven't named any that aren't adjustable while on the car.

I have KW V3's and both the front and rear are height adjustable.
They also have separate and independent compression and rebound damping.
All can be adjusted while on the car.

    Re: Are Installed coilovers adjustable?

hey MOFSTEEL, you obviously havent seen any other coils... Your perches, as well as mine, and Vogtlands, adjust from the top....

Stasis and others adjust from the bottom = stupid

Anyway, my PSS9s dont lock into the top, and therefore just spin the whole collar when trying to adjust height. I think I have everyone beat on damper adjusting though, I dont even have to take my wheel off

I "obviously" haven't seen any other coils? How so?
The KW V3's don't lock either. That doesn't mean they cant be adjusted while on the car. Just takes more effort.
If I had larger gaps in my wheel spokes I wouldn't have to take them off to adjust damping either.

    Re: Are Installed coilovers adjustable?

    IC, thanks all.

The moral of the story is to find out where the adjustments are made and ensure that adjustments CAN be made.

Cool, more researching for me, thanks!

    Re: Are Installed coilovers adjustable?

The KW rears are pretty easy to adjust while on the car. There is a hex hole in the thread assembly (black piece). You can reach it through the bottom up inside the spring with a socket extension. Takes a 3/8" hex bit. Hold the perch (purple piece) in place with the spanner wrench, and ratchet away on the socket wrench.

    Re: Are Installed coilovers adjustable?

Hmm, well that answers a good question for me. Nobody ever made the correlation between ease of adjustment and where the rear perch is located. Can someone name some other coilovers with the rear perch on top?

There's a fix to secure the collar from spinning: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ght=pss9+perch
