Christmas in mid June?! Thank you STaSIS! My rear BBK is here…

This was at my door when I arrived home this afternoon.

    Aluminium caliper brackets.

    Alcon two piston aluminium calipers.

Alcon rotors with their aluminium hats. Their size ~ 298mm by 21mm.

STaSIS even put heat sensitive paint on them so I can see what temperature I will reach on the track.

Performance Friction race pads, model PFC 01. I ordered two sets of fronts and two sets of rears. I’m waiting on some street compound versions. In the mean time I will continue to use Ferodo 2500s for the street.

Cool. How much money have you put in so far? or do you not even want to talk about it? haha

Does the paint change color after a certain temperature?

Yes that is correct. STaSIS applied the paint and I'm not familiar with its temperature range. The paint I use is one colour and it changes to different colour at a set temperature.

Last year both my fronts and rears reached close to 600 degrees Celsius and yes that's very hot!

Yes I have the fronts (several years now). I certainly hope the brakes will perform better but that's for extreme applications like when you track the car hard.

As for price we have not decided yet on it (believe it or not) it depends on whether I will need a second set of rotors.

Hey Mike, must say (again) that this braking set up is balls out the baddest ass setup out there. Awesome.

As for the rest of us mere mortals who will only occasionally track our cars (at most), I'd guess that the stainless lines, good fluid, Stassis rotors and B5/B6 S4 calipers/carriers will do dandy?

Because two large pistons offer more clamping force than six puny ones.

Check out the same thread JJ posted in the B6 forum and scan the pissing match to see why BBKs are for beauty queens. It's actually very informative.

LOL. A blast from the past!

Yes no hand brake because it is now a track car.
