3000K HID Fogs

I just Installed a pair of 3000K HID fogs and would like you feed back. TIA:)

loks good. i have a pair of 3000k fogs too. i got piaa ion yellow a few months back. they look insane. what kind did you get?

How about difficulty to install?

I had to put a capacitor on the wire that goes from the stock harness to the ballast for each side, because my light would flicker due to the inconsistency of power when the engine in running. The cap was 4700uf 35V. I also did not use a wiring harness, just straight plug and play. I herd if you use a wiring harness you will get a bulb out message in the dis. I had to remove the bumper to install the bulbs because my bumper is non s-line. Removing the damn bumber was the most difficult part of the install. GOOGLE is my best friend, lol

In fact I don't like yellow lights, they seem like back from the 80's or from a huge truck.

Wow! Its a good thing I have stock Xenon adaptive headlights, I would not like what you would have to say if I put HID in a low beam reflector housing. Now that’s blinding! My fogs are aimed to the ground, I'm not sure how "blinding" they rely are at that position.

I've seen plenty of local B5's, B6's and B7's with HID fogs. Trust me they're all blinding.

Have your friend drive your car towards you and you'll see.

I thought mine looked a little greenish too. I read someware that you just have to let them burn in for more than 10 hours. Has yours been burning for more than 10 hours.

No, they haven't been running that long. Guess I'll wait and see. Time to start running them day/night

where did you mount ur ballast ?

I will try to post pic of where I mounted the ballast. I did mount them on top of the belly pan so the can stay dry as possible.

I will try that just so I know how other ppl see my car. Honestly I hate being blinded by reflector HIDs and I hope I am not one of them cars now. IMO not all reflector HID setup is blinding, but there are some rice rockets that go above and beyond the tolerable limit.

i had hids in my a3's reflector housing, but i only put them in my high beams so i could turn them on and off. they were bright as hell i loved it haha

That makes sense, you have high output lighting when you need it the most. Or when that f@#$ing mini van is in the express (left) lane doing less then 120kmh and you want him to move over. I HATE LEFT LANE HOGGERS, LEFT LANE ON THE HWY IS FOR PASSING! If you’re in the left lane and not passing any cars and there is a car behind you, MOVE THE HELL OVER! Urban drivers are the worst for this. But this is another topic all together.

i have the hid kit in the halo housing and never been flick by on coming traffic i had someone drive my car no blinding i could get the xenons with the color option i wanted so all that that people blind oncoming traffic with hid kits in a b7 a4 is bs BULLSHIT I TELL YOU!!!! HAHAHAHAHA

its not only safety for other drivers but yourself as well. wait til u hit a really foggy day. all ull see is a wall of light. if you're gonna do it then do it right.

Up where the ballast is, there were some wholes (don’t know the name of the part) I just used one of them and bolted my bracket to it; the zip-ties are to further reduce vibration. The passenger side is the same idea. If you can mount the driver’s side you’re laughing.

I dont mind helping you, if you have the tools to do the job. I can also help you re wire your headlight switch so you can run you fogs without your low beams and if you have vag-com some other tweaks. PM me your E-mail and we will take it from there.
