Exclamation how to remove seat belts from rear deck lid?

Does anyone know how I could actually remove the rear deck lid out of the car and be able to take out the seat belt things from the deck lid? I'm recovering it and am kind of stumped.

Remove the housing for the third brake light. Then do the child belt harnesses (there's three of them) pop off the plastic cap, then unbolt them. Don't forget the third brake light harness. Then I think you just pull, it's been over a month now since I did it - might be one or two more bolts.

    i;ve always wondered this too.

The only option that i could come up with was to slit the decklid with a razor blade

you mean the plastic assemblies? Fiddle with them lol.

There are a bunch of snap-fit things, you need a flat head screw driver and *CAREFULLY* pry them out. It's not really something I can explain, you need to look at the assembly and look where to press and pry if I'm remembering correctly.

The seat belts are bolted to the deck lid and just below the seats (remove the rear seat completely) if that's what you mean.

Re: how to remove seat belts from rear deck lid?

pop up the lower seat (just pull up) and there you can access two 17mm headed bolts that hold your seatbelts in place.
from underneath the package tray push upwards on the cover (the part you're recovering) and it'll pop up.

at this point you can see the small clips that hold the seat belt pivots in place. You can turn the plastic bits sideways and slide them through the holes w/o damaging the package tray cover.

install is reverse. I just did the same w/ mine, and it turned out great. Looks OEM, and it's not all faded like before.

Here's a before and a couple after pics. I had some speaker box carpeting that matched the interior about 99%.
Before (faded, and nasty) Cell phone pic.

After. Looks amazing in comparison to me.

AudioPipe Speaker box carpet. I found it at The Andersons, in OH. It's like a Meijer, except smaller. They have a lot of cool stuff, and I found that carpet there for $18. It was a sheet of 4'x18'.
I used a total of ~2ft on this project since it's pretty much the right width on the roll.
