    Re: Is this true? (GIAC)

revo does offer a trial version and after the trial it reverts to factory settings like nothing ever happened!!

I would suggest going with revo or apr to feel the full potential of a chip...where in socal are you located?

    Re: Is this true? (GIAC)

GIAC is just as good as any other. I'm probably going to go with them when I get my next chip. They don't offer a trial, but like APR, they have a 30 day--money back guarantee.

U obviously have no clue what your talking about.
Your opinion is very biased especially since you kno nothing about GIAC.
Ever since you got Revo (about 2~3 months ago) all have been doin is saying Revo this..Revo that. They are a good company aswell as GIAC and APR.
Ive had GIAC-X for about a year n a half and I absolutley love it ( I've put on about 15K with it and its awesome, but you dont see me saying GIAC this...GIAC that).
I Know for damn sure that the peeps who have APR as well love it as well.

To the OP just go with which ever one that is closer to you/which ever tuner you feel more comfortable with.

They are all great, it just matters what preferance you like and also what your looking for outta your car. As of now GIAC and APR are the only ones at this time we know of that are coming out with BT kit software.

LOL far from it, ya i have revo and love it and I am giving my opinion based on what I have done. I tried GIAC for awhile, to me it was crap really didnt feel much difference from stock. Does that make GIAC less than REVO? NOT AT ALL, GIAC wasnt for me, I like the options REVO gives me (not going to get into it because you might cry if I talk about revo)

Apparently, my fondness with revo is bothering, but I could care less. If you havent read my other threads, I say go with the tuner close to you. Since you been following my threads I am sure you have read that.

In the end all chips do roughly the same and go with what tuner is closer to you.

To conclude, revo this, revo that =)

solely because i love to mess with my boost/timing etc. AND i dont want a cel when i run a testpipe.. those are the major differences i believe. but im no expert. def go with which ever dealer is closest to you, just in case.

That makes no sense in regard to your GIAC comment. Maybe the place you went to didn't install it right, b/c that's the first time I've heard anyone say that about GIAC.

I had my chip installed by jeff moss at torque factory, I am sure he did it right. GIAC to me, felt closer to stock than REVO. I was not very descriptive about my GIAC experience, but it was TO ME the same as stock, I felt a little gains but nothing out of the ordinary.

I am trying to not make this a comparison between chips, I just didnt enjoy GIAC as much as I taught.

there would be a point in them selling it for 550...to make money. there wouldnt be a point in people buying it is what you mean. either way, obviously GIAC software is quality as most people who have it are happy with it. Quattro did not have a good experience with it so he's just stating his opinion, it doesn't mean that he's wrong. he has not hidden agenda and he has no reason to lie either. it just means that he needs more powerfull software

What you're saying makes no sense.

Also, I'll be visiting AWE-tuning in a couple weeks and going for a ride in an A4 with GIAC-X. This may be my next mod. I'll let you guys know how it compares to APR 93.

Stop with the "go with the closes tuner to you" stick to the topic.

As far as the the topic goes.... I have know idea :) I would not doubt it though.

I currently am running it with out the testpipe.
GIAC is just finishing writing their file for the fuel pump/HPFP.

It has nothing to do with test pipe.

If your vehicle is equipped with the old part number pump 06F127025B, we recommend using the Sport Flashloader chip program available for your vehicle to prevent surging issues, especially if you have an aftermarket high flow cat. GIAC has done extensive testing on multiple 2.0T vehicles and has found a correlation between surging with higher boost levels with the old pump number. If your vehicle is equipped with the new part number pump 06F127025F, you can opt for the X-Chip Flashloader file, no matter what exhaust system is used.

That's old news since it was written before they knew the specs for both pumps which are the same and they will load X on any pump.

woah, i leave for the day and a fire breaks loose....nice..just off topic. I was just asking this question because the very closest place to me that does this is right off of miramar road (Group 5 Motorsports) (I'm in San Diego) ...unfortunately they only do GIAC and they told me that this would happen. I'd just like a trial though first.

    Re: Is this true? (GIAC)

A FYI GIAC offers 30 day money back, can't help you on the trial question but no tech is going to look that deep anyway or care since they don't keep track. I've read posts from audi techs that say the cars can leave the factory with upwards of 2-4+ on the flash counter, and sometimes dealer upgrades can add more then one. The real software doesn't change the counter so I'd imagine the trials are the same.
