Sometimes I'm not sure if being anal about keeping wheels clean is a good thing. When I got the car a couple months ago I removed the wheels and detailed the inner rim surfaces. They were so loaded with brake dust that one would think they were painted black. They came clean and look great, except now I'm noticing grease on passenger side inner wheel each time I clean with my brush :(
I just did my 55k oil change and had a look at the boot, I wasn't able to locate a tear or see any grease on the boot itself. I did find grease on some of the suspension (and the wheel) Is it possible that the inner clamp isn't tight enough and the grease is coming out? I don't think I'd have noticed the problem unless the wheels were clean, so can I expect the dealer to warrant this issue? Seems pretty lame to have to have this done so soon after my purchase; I feel that the dealer didn't fully inspect the car before calling it CPO.
Has anyone done this job on their car yet? I see that ECS has a kit that includes the required one time use bits.
