Powder Coating??

Hey guys....looking to get some stuff powder coated ....one prob.....last two places i have gone/called are out of business "gotta love our economy" ....any good recommendations? Hook it up!!!

bigmerle...i took my rim centers to extremepowdercoating on monday morning, picked them up tuesday afternoon! quality is pretty good...saw a little overspray. but yea, kinda far from ya.

DC Powder Coating (website not working) did pickup/drop-offs...which will probably benefit you, but not sure what his radius is.

Yea..I have friends who work there....and still wouldnt use them....plus the ovens they have are not big enough for my rails....

I'm going to Technical Finishers Inc in glen burnie on monday. I will let everyone know how they turn out.

How much did it cost you to get it done? Also how hard to get them off the car?

I got a steal of a deal on a new set "$150" and he charged me $75 to powder coat them. It's not too hard to get them off once you drop the headliner....

how much did they charge you? I had a bad experience with them when i took my MTM's there. They painted em and did a horrible job. For what they charged me, they should have used lube.

$1200 for this:

Fix rash, bends, cracks
Powdercoat flat black
Mount/balance 4 new Toyo's

I went to them because they were local, roughly 10 minutes from my house. Plus they promised to warranty them for life if a problem ever arose.

The guy with dreads is the man!!! He did some of my body work on my old silver mk4 when he worked at unitech across the road....some kid did my tech art wheels when i cracked the barrel on one....yes i said i cracked a tech art...they didnt believe it either when i called them to replace it


not only was it sloppy but the paint work was horrible and they painted over the center cap....no good....love some of the people who work there but dead serious when i say the work is sub par

I'm assuming they do wheel repair as well? I have a bent rim i need fixed

no, i think they only do powder coating...I recomend ye old wheel shop!!

The guy with the dreds did mine, it's the douche that runs the shop that I had a beef with. I was charged a similar price and they fixed no bends, when they told me they would. They also put the worst coat of paint ever on the wheels. They also were going to throw away the MTM logos from my wheels, until i told them to go picke them out of the trash and give them back to me. The coat of paint lasted a week, not that i could drive the car because the wheels still had bends in em. Took the wheels to wheel worx and fixed the bends and then learned how to paint and painted em my self.

did they powdercoat the whole wheel? because when i got my wheels back, they had only painted the face and the barrel just got overspray.

When I called them, they were less than helpful. He told me that i brought the car to him and told him the drivers rear (i think) had a bend and I asked them to take it out. I mentioned that would be difficult for me to have done because i gave you the wheels in boxes. They weren't on the car? He said, that is what happend, he was sure because I walked over and pointed at the wheel on the car. I was essentially lieing to get something for free and they were not going to do any more work, including fix the shitty paint job, unless i was charged full price AGAIN!

I had NH plates then, i'm 100% sure that they saw that and were just going to dick me around becasue they figured they would never see me again.

Yeah they powdercoated the entire wheels. They did a good job man, I am happy with it. If we ever meet up you can check them out.

The dude with the dreads admitted to me that they had problems with powdercoating before, specifically that he was a paint guy and never did pc before. Said that if any problems ever arose they would take care of them.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with them, lucky for me I didnt.

They do repair bent/cracked/rashed wheels. I think that is their main business anyway, paint/powdercoat seems secondary.
