So, I traded in my 2004 VW R32. Picked up this dead sexy 2005 S4 manual in Moro Blue with silver interior. Warm weather, cold weather... Loving it so far! Just wanted to say hello, and I will post some pics asap!
I picked it up Monday and already ordered monster mats, and hard wired in my valentine one, and my GPS. I will get pics up of those too.'
Where are the Audi meets?
And where is a good tint shop in or around Dutchess County, NY? Thanks!

i live in westchecter we have meets thursday in yorktown at the k mart check the regional thread for more info and there is a tint shop caled empire tints which is 30 seconds of the tocanic exit bryan pond road...pm me for more detailss......and congrats too welcome to your second family

There's a really good tint guy in Middletown (about 30miles west off 84).
He's been doing tints for over 30 years, and I've had many of my car buddies go get their Huper Optik tints done there. (Huper = Really good heat reduction, ceramic tint so it doesn't interfere with electronics, and good night time visability)

He also does the Peel-aways for races at Watkins Glens for Porsche's, etc...
HIGHLY recommended!

I too came from an 04 R32, I miss the lighter front of the car. You can defintely notice that the nose on this car is super heavier than the R. I used to plow through turns with the R32, but the S requires some steering wrestling. both great cars, If I had to go back, I would keep the R32 and Turbo it :( nevertheless, this car is more serious so I opted for it.

Does the B6 have the 60/40 split like the B7? I haven't noticed it overly nose heavy compared to my B5 A4 which seemed to have more understeer.

The R32 definitely felt lighter and quicker, but the S4 is more powerful, and much more luxurious feeling. I don't know.... I would love to take an R32 and stroke it into an all motor monster! With coil overs and sway bars it handled awesome!

I figure someday I will find a wrecked one or one with high miles and do that!

How easy is it to operate the scanner on a daily?

Scanner just runs itself once you have it programed.

I programmed it myself after many hours of searching the internet for relevant frequencies.

I hate to hijack or continue the hijack of this thread but I'm very interested in this scanner deal. I've been eyeing the Uniden 996T for a while but it's very expensive and I don't reall know what I'm doing. Is it worth it? If I drive from Oklahoma to Colorado will I have to look up frequencies for each jurisdiction that I'm driving through or will they be preloaded?

That depends on what model scanner you get. Uniden has a few with preprogrammed frequencies. You just choose what state you're in, and it scans the frequencies for those states.
I have mine programmed for every stinkin' local frequency I could find after hours of research, including the trucking systems.

Already installed monster mats, the V1, hardwired the GPS, and the scanner install will remain picture-less for the moment. The hard part is installing antennas that don't look horrible.... I will keep you posted.

Go and take a look at Cellgate's thread. I think that that will answer your question. He is a new Sprint Blue DTM S4 owner with crazy mad photog skills and one wicked website. It's some of the best composition I've seen for stills. His site is a really nice place to visit. Even my better half stopped what she was doing to take a look.
