who wants to play "guess that LWFW manufacturer?"

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So i have a LWFW (light weight flywheel). Its all aluminum minus the steel friction surface which is removable and replaceable, great. Now I have no idea who to go to and purchase the removable plate. It does not look like a fidanza flywheel, it looks more like an unorthodox flywheel. BUT heres the catch, there are NO part numbers or stamps on the flywheel at all besides to capital G's stamped on the back side. They are right next to each other and look like this:
    G G

I have asked unorthodox and fidanza and neither use this marking. The bolt pattern of the removable plate looks like unorthodox as well. If anyone can please help it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the receipts from southbend where the clutch came from but it does not include the flywheel. No receipts show where the flywheel came from.

Here is a link to the unorthodox flywheel that it closely resembles.

Aasco is the largest manufacture of billet flywheels.

Does it look something like this?

Here is a picture from ATP's web site.

Juan used to deal with Aasco for his flywheels back when he sold the WOA clutch, he said he could get their replacement inserts. Only bad thing is that he is no longer around.

You can also try Stillen, they list a few different flywheels for the Audi A4 1.8T.

Matrix Integrated is an aasco dealer if it turns out you need to purchase a new friction liner and the fw is in fact from aasco.

It's probably an Assco, a lot of companies re-label those and sell them as their own.

Pretty much, some shops actually contract aasco to cut the flywheel to their spec.

Re: who wants to play "guess that LWFW manufacturer?"

it ended up being a muheler something company who made the flywheel almost 10 years ago. i was able to get in touch with a guy named Vince from Aasco. Awesome guy who really was very helpful and informative about my issues.

They can replace the steel liner but I mentioned to him the flywheel condition and he thinks it would be best to replace it. So thats where I stand now, need to come up with that cash for the new flywheel.

the issue with the flywheel is that the bolts either were not torqued or weren't installed with loc tite so they backed out enough to be hand tight. This caused the back side of the flywheel to get chaffed up while it unevenly rubbed on the crank.

Would anyone be interested in a fine hunk of aluminum you can call a flywheel? 100$ takes it
