Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know lowering the car with coilovers or springs is the best way to do new wheels, but I have an 04 with sport suspension and want to see what 19's would look like.
I really dont need to have the car look like a magazine covercar, although it would be excellent.
(and dont want to put out 1G + for suspension work )

    Thanks

I like how the rear sits, but the front gap is too much

Thats not bad at all IMO. Of course your ride is much nicer than mine (I'm stock moro blue w/painted lowers), but the heights not bad at all.

Dang man, I just replaced my stock sport suspension last week (installed Bilstein/H&R combo) and have 19"'s. But I have to agree with A4 ABT, the rear has a nice drop but the front just got to me, you could stick your whole hand in there.

I can put 2 fingers between the fender and the tire in front (which is too much)!

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

Sorry for the x-post but here's a link to a thread i started a few weeks ago. Its my Dolphin Gray B6 with 2002 Sport Suspension and 19 inch Rs4's.

The car is a tad bit lower now than on the pictures because the springs settled a little bit. the back IMO is perfect, i can fit a finger and a half between tire and fender...the front though is a little tall, bout 3 finger gap. although, the car looks lower from different angles, i look at it from one way and it makes me wanna get springs just for the front, and another way, it makes me think that if i get springs it'll be too low.

    Here's the link:

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

wouldnt 18's with a larger series tire be a better ride. both of those setups look like the ride is going to be a little harsh. though both setups seem to have a decent high. thats probably about what i'll aim for... if i ever get a new car. haha

or maybe i'm the only one that thinks wheels look a little better with a decent amount of tire wrapped around them.

I was in the same position. You can do it but i don't think it looks good. I'm so glad i got coilovers before wheels. Save some money and buy suspension then wheels. You won't regret it.

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

02 Sport suspension with 235/40/18s doesn't look bad at all, so 19s cant be all that bad.. But then again, it is the 04 sport suspension. For a quick fix, I'd say get some springs, and then save up for COs as your shocks will wear out.

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

You guys realize by dropping the front to lessen the gap, you are already shifting the less then ideal stock 60/40 front/rear weight distribution to be even more front heavy. Ah, but all in the name of looks eh? :) Not to mention going up from stock 17" to 19" to add more weight to an already slow car...

The wheels look great, but those 30 series tires look too short, IMO. That has got to be a harsh ride. I'd be afraid of destroying the wheel with the smallest pot hole. A little taller tire would fill in the wheel well better. Car and wheels are sweet though.

Trust me, I'd love to if money werent an object, but I'm already selling one of my PRS guitars to get the Stage 1+ done and the wheels/tires.
The pics (to me at least) dont look that bad with the 19's. They look better than the 17's I have on now.

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

heres one from last summer, I need to take some new pics soon though I just added S4 doorblades and will be switching to gunmetal RS4 reps. I do agree about the height, the back sits nice but the front needs to come down a bit.

Re: Pic request : 19's with stock sport suspension

yea i bought the wheels used, and it came with the 30 sidewalls, but when it comes time for new tires i will def. get 35's, but honestly, the ride feels almost the same as the 40's i had on my 18" USP's
