I flew 5 and drove 16 hours for this...and I don't regret it one bit!

Just got back into town last night. Flew to Oregon and drove it back to Los Angeles. My flight was delayed nearly an hour and they shut down the I-5 between Redding/Sactown at 2AM....the detour extended my drive by nearly 2 hours.

It's an 01 S4 Avant 6-speed manual, black on black heated leather, bose...

Took me 12-months to find a clean original California-car like this. I had a WRX wagon for a little while, but I just didn't do it for me. Avants FTW!!

Great find. Picked up in Oregon?....should have dropped it off at Matrix for a week and driven it back with a stage 3 kit...might have made your drive back a lot shorter.... Been thinking of getting one of these myself (tough find).

I didn't want the alcantara or the white leather, so anything with those were out. And I didn't really want silver ext either, so that was out. And I wanted heated seats...so seriously finding this car was a feat on its own

If you got that in Bend, that's the one that made be briefly consider a B5 over a B6. Glad it went to a connoisseur. Flying out to pick up a car and a long road trip back is the best way to get a new car. Nice E30 you got there as well.

Welcome to the S4 Avant family. I flew to New Mexico and drove the 850 miles back alone in a day for my avant...it was worth it and fun (for the most part). I will keep a look out for your avant if you're still in the Irvine area as I will start working near there in a few weeks.

Way to go man!!! So many people limit their options because a car is not found within their immediate area and in fact the trip to get your baby is part of the whole awesome experience. Anytime I search for a car is nationwide and it's always paid off well. Hell I'll go to Germany if I could only bring a S2 Avant, Rs2 Avant, RS4 Avant , Rs6 Avant... Well you get the idea. In fact are there companies that import rare collectors or sports cars to the US? I saw a Nogaro RS2 Avant (porsche) for sale on eBay.de and I just wonder if maybe...

I flew 2 hours and drove back 9 hours for my car.... it was fun. I saw the ad the owner posted and knew right away it would be the perfect replacement for my totaled avant. i had to have it no matter how far away it was.

Very nice! B5 S4 Avant is my next car.

I drove 6 hours to get my A4 Avant. Got pulled over twice coming home for not having any license plates (New England police are clueless as to what the window sticker NJ temp tag looks like).

I saw a nogaro b6 s4 avant (6 speed w/ alcantara, sport, cold-weather, etc) that I wanted in Boston, but... trans-atlantic was a little far for me :p

picked up an '02 black s6 avant instead and am very happy!

cars.com search 'any distance' or something like that. It will show all the cars for sale in the US.
