    Coil Pack Issues/Quick Warranty Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok so I've had my car for approx. 3 months now and tonight is the second time I've had a coilpack go out. So I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help not blow coil packs so often. Also, when I start modifying my car (Intake, Exhaust, Chip, Etc.), will it void my warranty with the dealer?

Buy several spare coilpacks and keep them in the trunk.

Replace all of the original ignition coils and keep a spare in the trunk.

Re: Coil Pack Issues/Quick Warranty Question

Don't throw the dead coilpacks away.

If your car is under warranty, the next time you take it in for warranty, park it, swap in the dead coilpacks, take the good ones with you in a bag and hand your keys to the service advisor.

When you get your car back from the scheduled maintenance the dead coils will be replaced with new ones and you now have some spares.
