Twice tonight my accelerator seemed to become stuck under WOT. Once I got home, turned off the car and couldn't get the accelerator to get stuck again. The floor mat wasn't the cause of it. Would anyone know what may have caused this or know what i should do?

    Re: Suicidal S4...

that happened to me on an old Camaro I used to have, almost killed me and 2 others in the car. What happened was that under full throttle off the line the "hi flow" throttle body sucked a piece of plastic from the air intake box up inside itself jamming one of the two valves wide open. Had to shut the car off doing 65 mph. Quite the scare!

Your case seems to be an intermittent issue. I would think some programming might be at fault or lack of in that matter.

    Re: Suicidal S4...

I had something similar happen to me with my old car...it ended up the support bar that went across my battery had dislodged and then relodged under my throttle while punching it. Then coming up to a Red Light at a T section with someone stopped in front of me...Luckily there was enough to the right of the guy for me to get over and then turn it off.

    Re: Suicidal S4...

    software issue possibly?

i had this happen on my old old nissan maxima, turns out the front strut tower bar was installed improperly (my stupid kid days) and the throttle cable would get pinched at WOT and stay that way haha. Obviously this cant happen with the s4,so i'd have to go with check around the TB and consider replacing the software...

I just realized that I used my cruise control for the first time the day before it happened. Maybe it is a software issue...

Why downshift? Even if it was an automatic, pop it into nuetral and use the brake pedal... the engine can redline all day like this and you wont move forward...

    Re: Suicidal S4...

I have had this happen a few times and I have the APR chip. It actually started happening after I had the chip installed but only rarely. Hasnt done it in a few months. I just depress the clutch, rev it a few times, and it goes away

Most common cause for this is a floor mat that has caught the pedal. Are you running winter mats by any chance? They are notorious for it if you've installed them over your carpet mats.

Yep, I thought it was the floor mat but once I reached home, I saw the mat wasn't the cause...it was still hooked into the pin. (not using winter mats)

I believe cruise control was on. Pushed the handle towards the front of the car yesterday to (I think) turn it off. Under WOT a few times last night, the pedal didn't stick. Hopefully it doesn't do that again.
