B6 Remote Key with 8E0959433B Module

I have a 2002 A4 with 6000 miles on it. I bought it new for my daughter who can't use it in NYC. Dealer replaced the convenience module with 8E0959433B after water damage. All worked fine after replacement except remote key fobs. Dealer claims carpet cleaner specified by insurance company (after State Farm correctly refused to authorize $3000 new carpet dealer wanted to install) damaged the box again and wants $1000 to replace it again! This is nonsense. I suspect that this module, which is dated 2004, works only with B7 key fobs, not the originals I still have. I tried recoding keys with posted method--no luck. Dealer says programming of module is not a solution. Can anyone help? I plan to take this matter up with Audi headquarters.

Best way to do is connect VAG-COM and scan the module, program it and so on. I looked at module prices and I see $250 at ETKA, so expect $300 not more, I didn't see just B as a part number
There are like 4 or 5 different versions for it. Yours I think should be BC or BD
    Once again, VAG-COM

OK, sounds like the dealership is incompetant. Is there any other dealers you could take the car to? The convienience module PN is the correct PN for a '02 A4. The key remotes need to be adapted, they are compatable with the module PN installed. A 433B is not a
B7 version, B7 versions did not exist in '04. I have a "B" version module in my '03.
To match the remote fobs to the convienience/comfort module, a VAG-COM is needed, see:http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/...ntrol_Matching
