Got a body shop quote today.

Well, I've had lots of little things that I wanted to do all at once, and friday, I got into an accident, but amazingly all I got was a scuff on the front bumper and little barely noticable curb rash on my front right wheel. Well I went to this body shop, I met the guy in the resteraunt I work at, so I figured I'd go for an estimate. Well I didnt know that this shop did lots of high-end work for prestige motors and local celebrities (funk master flex, Lil' Kim) and so they are used to charging higher prices because the people they are dealing with, either other dealerships or people, either have money or are selling the car to people with money.

Well I wanted to get my lowers painted, about 5 dings off the same door, and the front bumper buffed. Well I got quoted $350 for each side and $400 for the back bumper and I think the same for the front. Plus the dings. Came out to $1600 I think......maybe even more..

Well Like I said I didnt know they were an upper scale body shop, cuz you cant really tell, they just do alot of upper end work.

So I'm gonna go to about 2 more places that I heard had fair prices. I'm looking for $7-800 maybe $900 max, and $900 is even pushing it a lil. Just wanted to share. I'm so used to hearing on here like $400 total for having all the lowers painted, but I got like $350 per side and then front and back......owell.

i got quoted $600 for taking off 4 dents from each fender and painting, also taking out a door ding right at the seem of the door, repressing and repainting my front and rear bumpers, painting lower and door blades, and so on! thats steep, but as u said high class!

Remember to stick to a good body shop, I've rather have a good finish product than a crappy shitty job done. Sometimes its good to pay a little bit more but you know their gona do a good job. oh yea and dont forget to check out there work and see if they have a paint room with air filters you dont want no crappy particles in your finish product.

Yea I understand, but double is a little more than a premium for good work. I got some recommendations of people who will do a good job for a fair price. If I did that at $8/hour I'd have to work over 200 hours to pay for it, its just not feasable for me. If I get a regular price from a legit guy who does a good job I can get it in 2 months.

Ok thanks. So by per panel you mean if I have like 4 on one door it'll be 95 cuz its on the same door?
