    I tinted my ambers also

Any paint will work, it doesn't have to be high temp. The Xenons burn even cooler than the halogens, but you can use whatever with halogens and it will be fine... It's all up to what kind of finish/gloss you want.
    Ignorance is bliss.

Re: PIC Request: Blacked out Bi-Xenon housing reflector

Would this look stupid on a silver B7 with silver alloy wheels? any pics? I like the blacked out look, but I feel like you need to have black wheels if you want to complete the 'black out' successfully; especially if you have a light colored car like me. Is that stupid to think that? Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

yeah i have a silver car also and am not so sure how it would work. i dont want to black every out, i actually think chrome and silver metallic looks good together. i just dont know how blacked out headlights would look with all of that

It would kill, especially if you re planning on going with a black wheel later on...
Chrome is not good with silver from my point of view...Chrome matches well with my blue for instance, or with DG...
But black goes well with everything...Once black, never go back... :)

Colour coding Bi Xenon housing Dolphin Grey!

    1. When you being to prep it begin by using painters tape, tape up all the parts that you dont want painted ie. the inside of all the reflective parts so you dont mess up the lighting.
    2. sand down everything that is going to be painted/clean the area once done sanding.
    3. Begin by spraying light even coats of primer over all the being painted. (about 2 coats)
    4. Once everything is all primered up and its dry begin by spraying light even coats of paint that your using (about 2 coats/however much you need). (in this case black)
    5. Once you finish/let the paint dry hit it with Clear coat (about 2~4 coats or however many u need/want)
    6. When everything is done let it dry completely then reassemble the headlights and your finished all you have to do put everthing back together.

*DO NOT paint when its windy because the paint will bubble*
*primer/paint dries pretty quick depending on the temp. atleast 70 degrees n above, between 10-20 min. a coat.*
*if your gonna paint the chrome like mine, instead of sanding down everything hit it with Acrylic Laquer Thinner, makes the jobs soo much easier.*

    For paint go here: http://www.paintscratch.com/
They have everything you need here.
Having seen this after locating RHD Bi Xenons, I just had to go the whole hog! All dolphin grey not much in way of reflectors will be left. Have been taking before and after, plus a few in the making pics. Hope to show it off in a few days! Acid, your car and DIY instructions have given much inspiration and help. Cheers mate!

Cheers guys! I have been scoping out all the custom lights on here since I bought my A4. Slowly building up all the bits and pieces needed. Has been a joy to drive and tinker with..

Seen your blog Schweini.. Such a tidy A4. All class with the chrome on black. Was wondering what globes you have for fog lights? Its a good match!

Can't believe there have been no additions since 08!!

Thank you my friend, that's much appreciated and the exact look I'm striving for. I used a 6000k HID for my fogs, I got them from SonicTuning.com. Error free resistors built right in, very happy with them

I know you all might just gonna hate but go all-in and do full black :)

Nothing worse than chrome on A4's imo.

Makes it look like a cheap ebay headlight kit when blacked out, but to each his own I guess. I just understand why the whole "blacked out this, and blacked out that" thing is so popular...

While I'm against blacking out everything. I think badges, chrome housings, trim etc is enough. I really despise blacked out taillights, tinted headlights, super dark tint, etc. Blacking out functional pieces intended for the safety of you and others I think is stupid, but blacking out other things is the same as any other mod you may do to your car, an extension of yourself/style.

Agreed.. LEDs when its not OEM looks ricey. Although Flys kit does pull it off, but its still not for me. Blacked out everything seemed massive 5 years ago. A good combination of chrome n low, although tricky, can still look stanced but classy (it is an Audi). Did 10 years ago and still does now.. My 2 cents. For the record I matched my housings Dolphin Grey, so no blacking out. Just sets the OEM lights deeper in the car.. Keep it classy San Diego

How much does Phil actally black out when he does the LED mod? Just the chrome parts in the front? I was looking at my headlights and it looks like everyething else is already black or gray (besides reflective stuff around the lights).
