considering a k04 for my b7 once it comes out, but i was wondering if it requires a high pressure fuel pump, intercooler, etc to perform well

By that token, whatever is larger than the k04 is smaller than something else.

@ the OP:

Get what you want depending on what your goals are for the car and how you drive the car.

If you are looking to squeeze every HP and ft lb. out of this car, then go for the best, otherwise, get something that is affordable while still giving you the best power.

If you are going to get the K04, I would get the fuel pump otherwise you may be running too lean for the upgraded programming and turbo. Also, get the reflash at the same time as the turbo if you haven't already.

i emailed the sales rep at apr, and he said that it is coming out at the end of july

The 2.0T K04 is a larger turbo than the 1.8 K04. This will be a great kit when it comes out and makes some good numbers with the reliability of OEM.

APR is working on a BT kit but I don't think there doing another K04 kit. Hoping that there BT kit is scalable for some of us who need something a little more daily drivable.

APR did have a KO4 turbo kit for the B7 A4 (I've got it) however they took it off the market because the KO4 was going up in price(it was already expensive to start with). I was under the impression they were releasing at GT serries turbo kit - A BT kit, however maybe they are working on an upgraded KO4 kit?

So the first of july huh? this sounds very interesting, if indeed it puts out numbers like the transverse 2.0T... 382hp/332tq on 93 octane! I'd be more than happy with that kind of power and smoothness of daily driving.

Allow me to provide some clarification to some of the misinformation that is in this thread...

APR is no longer offering our original K04 turbo for the Longitudinal 2.0T FSI engine that is in the B7 A4. The current S3 / ED-30 K04 kit that you see on our website will only fit the Transverse 2.0T FSI engine that comes in the Audi A3, VW Jetta, EOS, and GTI.

Other companies are also offering Transverse Audi S3-based K04 kits (this includes KMD and AWE) BUT nobody that I know of is currently offering a K04 kit for the LONGITUDINAL 2.0T FSI that is in the Audi A4. There may be some folks working on a new K04 for the Longitudinal engine but I haven't seen any announcements. The K04 kits currently being offered DO NOT fit on the Longitudinal 2.0T FSI found in the B7 A4 withouth significant modification and/or plumbing changes. This is not a jab toward any other companies because we also do not currently offer a K04 for the B7 2.0T either.

Per Keith's statment on Audi World, there will be interesting news from APR at Waterfest this year concerning some turbo kits that WILL fit the LONGITUDINAL 2.0T FSI that is found in the B7 A4. That's all I can say right now about the new kits. I hope this clears up any confusion.

You can still find them out there that were never sold. APR just doesn't have them. :)
