hey guys-

i figured this would get its appropriate exposure in the a4 forums, as my 1995 90s is like the same, so here!

i need 2 know if n e 1 can please help me pull a CEL off of this thing. it didn't come with the 'connecters' 4 the fuse box. car died on highway, is turning over and somewhat firing, has spark, but not fuel. car is driving me nuts! i would like 2 try 2 pull a code (unlikely, but can't hurt) b4 anything!

If there is a local AutoZone, go there and they can check the codes for you for free.

Autozone wont be able to read his codes since it's a 95.

this should work you probably either need a fuel pump relay or fuel pump if you aren't getting any fuel though.

Might sound silly but are you sure you aren't out of gas, the gauge could be wrong.

unfortunately, they can't on this odbI. neither can several mechanics. it's either i do it or audi does it

Also, are you sure your cat isn't clogged up, has your exhaust been rattling lately?
This happened on dad's 95 90 and left him stranded.

Tell that to the people driving behind you. The 12V is real smelly. My friend has a 93 90 and I can't drive behind him for that reason.

i was able 2 diagnose it & determined it is the fuel pump. gotta try 2 find a good website that has it cheap-o. thanx again 4 the CEL guide though; @ 180k that WILL come in handy!

jumper terminal 30 to 87 to energize the pump and see if you can hear it. just do this to test the pump as the relay has multiple outputs on some of these cars and just because the pump runs doesnt mean the car will start.

Rockauto.com has one for $151 not bad for an audi fuel pump.

Or bimmerparts.com for $145ish
