    Exhaust Leak Test?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm hearing a loud exhaust leak. I used an old flange from turbo to my CAT - could this be it?

Any way to test for leaks in that area? A bolt on the GTRS exhaust side was missing - so I replaced that and it quieted it down a bit, but I still hear an exhaust leak...

If you had a bolt missing you probably blew out the gasket as well.
I'd pull the rest of the bolts and check it out.

Another way is at idle grab a rag or two and have a helper plug up the tailpipe.
It should increase flow out of any leak.

^^ X2, PUT ON SOME GLOVES if the exhaust is hot and block the tailpipes and listen/feel around the area for air

or you could sea foam your car and watch the smoke billow out the leak.. haha that is how I found mine. It is very obvious since the smoke is so white.

Uhh, don't clog the exhaust pipe. Use a bit of sea foam and look for the smoke.
