    Re: People, Debadge or not,

It seems like you have a similar setup like mine with the red and black. I ordered some black rings from a fellow on the boards (Avantnoir). Once those come in, I'm going to debadge the car and have only the black rings in the back. Then I gotta paint the front rings or something...

I'd debadge an S4 or RS4. I could care less what others think about my car. And besides, the styling of the S4 and RS4 are different from the A4 and frankly, I like the cleaner look.

I just took delivery of my A4 Avant last week and I had the dealer debadge my car for me. They removed the A4 and 2.0T badges, but I didn't even notice they also debadged the rear s-line badges on the doors until someone on the board pointed it out. I looked at the car again and frankly, I liked it even better without the s-line badges too. I didn't buy the car for the badge, so why should it matter if it has a badge or not.

Here's a pic of the debadge from the dealer:

And here's a pic of the sides debadged:

There are mixed results over there, some like it, some don't. They all share the same opinions some of us do. Some say you paid for the badge keep it, some say it looks cleaner without the badge. My point with all of this is if the car didn't have the badge to begin with, what would be the difference. Nothing.

yeah but you gotta remember that the badge alone is +5hp so technically by debadging you are reducing your car's performance.....seriously though people that are not familiar with audi's might mistake an RS4 or S4 with an A4 without the badge, there are very few differences externally between the two so I personally would keep the badgeing, i don't mind having my A4 being mistaken for an RS4(it's happened) but I would mind my RS4 being mistaken for an A4

If someone mistook your RS4 for an A4, then obviously they know nothing about cars and why would you care about having their respect anyway?

I mean the rs4 has wider wheels, flared fenders, different grille and sounds completely different than an A4. Sure someone with an A4 can put RS4 reps on their car, change the grille and modify the exhaust, but at that point, still why would you care. You still own a car that would toast them anyday of the week. And if they are trying to make their car look like an RS4 to actually be passed off AS AN RS4, they have issues.

The guys that debadge, do it for the cleaner, symmetrical look or they do it to pass their car off as a higher model, but either way, the only people we want respect from are people that know about cars. I could care less if Johnny down the street that loves cars that go vroom knew the difference between an RS4, S4 and an A4.

    Re: People, Debadge or not,

Oh and I don't care about what everyone alse thinks, just the Audi community or anyone else that appreciates our cars. My point is that imo people that buy an RS4 do it because they can afford it and want people to know they can afford it. They do not track their car and after a certain amount of hp's it just overdoing it because we don't have a autobaun so it's pretty much just a status symbol

oh and the person that thought my car was an RS4 was a bimmer enthusiast lol

In the UK you can order your car to come without badges straight from the factory! I found that out after I went through the "build your audi" feature on the UK Audi site.
