5 spd vs 6spd tip

I currently have an '04 Avant with the 5spd tip and though I like everything else about the car the TIP tranny is brutal and truely kills this car for me. Is the 6spd tip any better and can it be converted? I would love to find a 6spd manual but they are a hard find.

^^not worth it, the cost to put it in can build u a full motor w/ a crazy turbo!

6spd tip is a joke. i have one and it sucks ass, always 2 gears lower than it should be and shifts roughtly into 3rd gear, also sucks with downshifting plus the transmission oil is almost $32 a quart.

I wouldn't buy another A4 with the 6HP19 let alone convert a car to it.

isn't 6spd tip a CVT?
if you think of swapping tranny, why not 6spd manual?

Nah, CVT is FWD and refered to as CVT and the 6spd tip has the same model as the B6 tip with a 5 instead (5hp19).

I'd do the manual conversion as well but at that point it's just more cost effective to sell the car and buy one with the 6spd.

I have asked my shop about a 6spd manual conversion and it was just too extensive. I will likely try to sell and find a B7 manual 6spd. They are fairly hard to find in Avants though.
