Post Going to San Diego this weekend...

I'll be down on Thursday to check out a house spot, and chillin with friends. However, I'll be there during the day Friday with nothing to do. Any suggestions, other than sea world?

I'd like to just hang out somewhere there's a lot of people to watch. Or, near the beach, any scenic areas? I hear La Jolla has some nice cliffs and stuff. I'd like to be at a spot that's inspiring. I don't know if that last sentence helped. Anyway, suggestions would be great! BTW, if you see me driving around, honk!

Try to check out Mission Beach, a lot of fun things to do there. For some place inspirational, you can check out the coves at La Jolla, its a great place to just hang out.

Mission Beach is a good suggestion. La Jolla is also very nice but if you want to people watch, I don't know how many people are going to be out in Ja Lolla during the day.

Dowtown and by proxy the gaslamp and seaport village areas are always an option but for something a little more scenic you might want to try Del Mar. In fact if you do end up in La Jolla, you could just drive from Torrey Pines (there are some great hiking trails right next to the golf course that take you down to the water) down the coast into Del Mar, which has some nice bars and restaurants.

Or if you don't care about gas, you could drive out to Julian and pick up some pie for your friends :)

The Del Mar is pretty cool and has some good local joints. For breakfast, you can go to T's Cafe right on 101 by the Solana Beach train station. For lunch, there's a sandwich place called Board and Brew in downtown Del Mar that has mind-blowing subs (Turkado is my fav) as well as Pacifica Breeze for some good all-around things.

The only downside is how damn crowded the beaches get now during the summer. All the IE folks haul half their house over and plant it on the beach. It's super hard not to run over the dumb kiddies with their boogie boards in the surf zone too.

Lemme know if you do end up coming around my parts.
