Does anybody know what is the 0-60 time for a stock A4 1.8t manual of course, does having the quattro make it quicker than the FWD.

i have a 1.8t FWD just wondering what a stock B5 0-60 is?? tried researching it but i only find the B7 and B8 times lol.

quattro is slower than fwd due to the drivetrain loss. I'm guessing fwd should be like 7.3 and quattro should be like 7.9? iono just guessing

    Re: B5 0-60 Stock??

According to the Instruction Manuals, both quattro and FED have the same 0-60mph.

Yes, quattro is heavier, but gearing is slightly lower too, at least the lower ones, so it puts it on a par with the lighter FWD models.

there was nothing on the site about fwd, but after having a both a front-trac and a quattro b5, I would guess they are very close

    Re: B5 0-60 Stock??

I found this on carpoint for 1996 model year they dont have numbers for the other years

    Audi A4 quattro - V6 2.8L (172 hp) 5M + ABS 7.52
    Audi A4 quattro - V6 2.8L (172 hp) 5M + ABS (AJAC) 8.23
    Audi A4 fwd - V6 2.8L (172 hp) 5A + ABS 8.69

so i would think the 1.8T stock would be closer to that not 9.5sec

    Re: B5 0-60 Stock??

Chipped B5 1.8T should run you mid 6 second range. (Maybe a little less in the wet...Little extra wheel slip helps with not bogging down without frying your clutch.) Stock mid to upper 7 second range. I remmeber seeing 7.8 seconds zero to sixty a long time ago in a mag test.

a little wheel spin on quattro is good in a launch because when you dont, that means you have bogged down and that makes the car slower...

    Re: B5 0-60 Stock??

0-60 times will very greatly depending on driving. Vag-Com can log 0-60. Its under measuring blocks, I dont remember exactly which one. My pc-16 front-trac only manages a 6.9 0-60 time due to traction issues.

educated guess though, I would say somewhere around 8-8.5 sec for a stock 1.8t

I'm sure a 13+ year old civic si wasn't that fast either. Since the si is a "sports car" a better comparison would be an s4 b5

You missed the point I was making in my post..

He said that they could run 6's to 60. I told him that my civic does 6.1 from factory and 6.4 real world. I walked my own b5 a4 with my civic.. I am not in any way trying to say that the civic is a better car, I am just using it as a time table

You would need more than a Ko3 to take a newer civic si
